The New Day want to ‘Freebird’ a singles title

We have yet to see how The New Day will affect the landscape of the tag team division on SmackDown Live, seeing as they have yet to debut on the blue brand following the “Superstar Shake-Up” thanks to Kofi Kingston’s ankle injury. Could it be possible, though, that they’ll shake things up in a different way?

When asked by Sportskeeda about eyeing a singles title:

Big E: You never know.

Kofi: You never know. The thing about singles titles is when one of us is champion, we are all champions. So it’s in the cards. There’s a lot of championship titles out there that need to be won and we like winning. So, we’ll see. Like I always say, you never know what’s gonna happen.

Big E: It’s true. And I think it would be fresh. I think to have a trio ‘Freebird’ a singles title. That would be cool. It's something we've talked about many times, and we're ready to shake things up.

SmackDown is in need of a new tag team to freshen up that scene — though Breezango are doing great things with the Fashion Files — and New Day may be the cure for what ails the blue brand in that regard. Still, a future “Freebird” run with a singles title sounds interesting enough.
