On the latest edition of NXT, which was broadcast on WWE Network tonight (May 10), General Manager William Regal added a couple matches to his card for next Saturday’s TakeOver: Chicago.
Of course, if you read spoiler reports, you already knew about these... but then, Regal’s not making these decisions alone in real life either, so go with it.
Anyway, Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano have rightfully been pointing out they still haven’t received a straight-up rematch against the team who took the tag titles from them, Authors of Pain. The GM agreed, and since this rematch needed a little something to raise the stakes - he made it a ladder match!

Then, in the main event, Hideo Itami defeated Roderick Strong for the right to challenge Bobby Roode on May 20.

It’s also been confirmed the women’s title match will be a Triple Threat due to Ember Moon being pulled due to a shoulder sprain.
Here’s the updated card:
- Hideo Itami vs. Bobby Roode (c) for the NXT championship
- Asuka (c) vs. Ruby Riot vs. Nikki Cross for the Women’s title
- #DIY vs. Authors of Pain (c) in a ladder match for the Tag Team championship
- Tyler Bate (c) vs. Pete Dunne for the United Kingdom title
NXT live specials typically have at least five matches, and with the number of big names currently without a match (Drew McIntyre, Aleister Black, Andrade “Cien” Almas, Kassius Ohno) that shouldn’t be a problem.
Like what you see so far?
