Seth Rollins disposed of the King of Kings at WrestleMania 33 so, naturally, he turned his attention to the king’s muscle, Samoa Joe, at tonight’s (Sun., April 30, 2017) WWE Payback pay-per-view (PPV) at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. He had every reason to want revenge, of course, considering it was Joe who injured him months ago.
He got it.
Joe, of course, targeted the knee and Rollins did a lot of selling of it. He pulled out all his offensive stops, including the Phoenix splash, and Joe, Terminator that he is, kept kicking out and moving forward. He even locked the Coquina Clutch in on Rollins, who, after briefly flirting with failure, rolled through and scored a pinfall on a slick fireman’s carry into a modified cradle.
Time for Rollins to move on?
