From his interview with WETM NBC Elmira:
"I spent five of my six-and-a-half years as a heel. I told the fans 'It's getting to me, stop doing it' and the more I said that, the more they did it. So when I was babyface, they still did it and they love doing it. It's one of those things that, Vince (McMahon) tried to change it, I tried to change it, it's just not going to happen. It's one of those things now that the fans do it out of respect and it sounds cool with my song."
Only in pro wrestling would a beloved former star make his return after a decade away and fans would shower him with “You Suck” chants during his entrance as a sign of respect and admiration. Don’t expect it to go away anytime soon either.
We pro wrestling fans are a stubborn bunch, after all.
