The Road to WrestleMania 33

Goldberg’s latest run in WWE has been a true nightmare for Brock Lesnar. It started off with an unthinkable squash match at Survivor Series 2016, followed by an immediate elimination from the 2017 Royal Rumble match.

Goldberg simply dominates the Conqueror at every turn, including their first match ever back in 2004 at WrestleMania 20.

After Lesnar’s humiliating defeat in the Royal Rumble match, Paul Heyman explained a disturbing truth, that every all-time great has that one opponent who has their number. This culminated in one final challenge from Brock to Goldberg, at WrestleMania 33.

Goldberg accepted this challenge and then went on to quickly destroy Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship at Fastlane 2017. This turned the rematch between Goldberg and Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 into a Universal Championship match.

The Beast Incarnate confronted Goldberg in the ring to congratulate him on the championship victory, and then duped him with a handshake into a thunderous F-5:

The two legends had one last tug-of-war face-to-face confrontation on the final episode of Raw before WrestleMania 33, and this time it was Goldberg who completely annihilated Brock with a spear, reminding the world once again that Goldberg simply has Lesnar’s number.

What’s at stake?

The Universal Championship is on the line when Brock Lesnar challenges Goldberg again at WrestleMania 33. This could very well be Brock’s final chance to prove that he has what it takes to conquer this seemingly invincible superhero.
