Two NXT talents get new WWE names at April 19 taping

Both of these wrestlers have been with WWE for a while now, and in NXT matches on WWE Network working under their real names. One of them even had a storyline!

No matter. Tonight (April 19) at the NXT taping at Full Sail Live (full spoilers are here), we learned its never too late to get your WWE trademarked handle.

Daria Berenato was a contestant on the last season of Tough Enough. She was eliminated early, but in October of 2015 signed with the WWE. She is only the second openly gay performer WWE’s had on their active roster, and worked a television angle with Peyton Royce & Billie Kay which saw her have a match before TakeOver: Toronto last November.

Macey Estrella is a former United States Marine who joined the company in April of last year. Her on-screen appearances to date have been in multi-person matches or as enhancement talent.

At the taping, they faced each other - and under their new names. Daria is now Sonya Deville, and Macey is Lacey Evans.

Personally, I think their real names are much cooler, but... WWE gonna WWE, and they can’t all be Ruby Riots.
