Full spoilers from NXT’s April 19, 2017 tapings at Full Sail

NXT is back at their home base of Full Sail Live, where they'll tape matches and segments for their regular Wednesday night series on WWE Network.

Tonight’s show (April 19) is hot on the heels of a taping which went down just two weeks ago, on the Wednesday after TakeOver: Orlando. That helped us say goodbye to main roster call-ups of Shinsuke Nakamura & Tye Dillinger while giving us our first look at Drew McIntrye’s second run with WWE. This should take us most of the way to TakeOver: Chicago, and fill out the card for that May 20 event.

We’ll know more when results start rolling in from Winter Park, Florida. We'll be updating those here live, starting at the scheduled 6:30PM Eastern bell time:

  • Jeet Rama over Maxx Stardom in the dark match. Jeet was accompanied to the ring by the Bollywood Boyz.
  • Hideo Itami over Kona Reeves.
  • Killian Dain over Danny Burch.
  • Heavy Machinery (Otis Dozovic & Tucker Knight) over some enhancement talent. After the match they say they want the Authors of Pain.
  • Sonya Deville over Lacey Evans. Both women are renamed, Evans used to be Macey Estrella and Deville was Daria Berenato.
  • Aleister Black over Cezar Bononi, once again in short order.
  • Hideo Itami over Roderick Strong to become #1 contender to the NXT Championship at TakeOver: Chicago.
  • After the match, Itami and Strong hug, but as soon as Roddy’s alone, SAnitY pounce.
  • Street Prophets (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) over Dylan Miley & Ho Ho Lun. Miley predictably turned on and attacked Ho Ho for losing.
  • Drew McIntyre over Sean Maluta. After the match, Drew is interviewed and mentions Wesley Blake calling him out, presumably in a backstage segment. They’ll wrestle “next week”. (Thanks for the correction, JBL’s Other Boy!)
  • Kassius Ohno over Andrade “Cien” Almas.
  • #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) come down and say that they want the one-on-one rematch they never got against the Authors of Pain and the line starts behind them. Riddick Moss & Tino Sabbatelli interrupt them, they say it’s not about tiny underdogs or fat giants and it’s their time.
  • #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) over God-Gifted Athletes (Riddick Moss & Tino Sabbatelli).
  • William Regal comes down and sets #DIY vs. Authors of Pain (Akam & Rezar) for TakeOver: Chicago... in a ladder match! “Precious” Paul Ellering says his Authors will end their careers.
  • Bobby Roode comes out. He cuts a promo about how Hideo Itami has made his name knocking people out and even breaking a jaw or two, and he knocked Roode himself out with the Go 2 Sleep, but it’s not happening again. Bobby’s going to make an example of him and show why he’s had so much success in NXT while Hideo has sat on the injured reserve, and when he’s done he‘ll send him back to Japan with nothing to show for his time in NXT.
  • Hideo Itami comes out and fights through security to deliver another Go 2 Sleep.
  • A battle royal to crown a #1 contender to the NXT Women’s Championship is our main event. Rachael Ellering is in it... AND SO IS CANDICE LERAE!
  • The match gets down to Ember Moon, Nikki Cross, and Ruby Riot when Asuka hits the ring and takes ‘em all out, leading to a no contest. William Regal comes down and yep, you guessed it, it’s a fatal four-way for the NXT Women’s Championship in Chicago, Asuka defending against Ember, Nikki, and Ruby.
  • Authors of Pain (Akam & Rezar) come out. Paul Ellering says they’re the greatest tag team of their generation and SAnitY come out in response.
  • Authors of Pain (Akam & Rezar) over SAnitY (Alexander Wolfe & Eric Young) by disqualification. The two teams brawl as security comes down and then they brawl some more. After each team beats up security, they have a nice ramp-to-ring staredown.

There you have it, folks

NXT set and ready for TakeOver: Chicago. Like what you read?
