Ambitious Alexa Bliss hopes women can main event WrestleMania ‘within a year’

WWE.com

With the so-called women’s revolution and the rise of stars like Charlotte and Sasha Banks, who have been promoted in main event matches on WWE pay-per-views, talk has naturally turned to whether or not women will ever get to headline the big one.

If you’re asking Alexa Bliss, she’s hoping they’ll be headlining WrestleMania within a year.

From her interview with Yahoo Sports:

“A year from now I hope that I have been able to become Raw Women’s Champion. I would love to be able to hold both titles within a year, I think that would be an awesome opportunity. I’d really like to see our women in the main event at WrestleMania. I know it’s kind of considered a future thing and no one knows if it’ll ever happen, but in my mind, it’s going to happen and hopefully within a year. Hopefully in a year I’ll be women’s champion and have taken this division by storm.”

Early rumors have Vince McMahon planning on using Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal championship as his WrestleMania 34 main event. It’s hard to imagine the women’s division rising up enough to supplant that, though if there’s ever been an industry where “never say never” applies, it’s this one.
