WWE Payback 2017 match card & rumors

The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the Payback show set to take place on Sun., April 30, 2017, at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. This is the second year the event will follow WrestleMania, as it switched spots with Extreme Rules. This will also be a Monday Night Raw brand show.

We're now two weeks out from showtime and here’s what they have planned:

  • Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho (United States championship)

The “Superstar Shake-Up” saw Owens head to SmackDown Live after this match was already made official. Despite the fact that Owens has already appeared on the blue brand, and they already found a number one contender to the US title after this match, they decided the winner would become an official member of the SmackDown roster.

  • Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt (WWE championship)

Like with the US championship match, the “Shake-Up” created the need to have this match here. The difference is Wyatt has already been announced as a Monday Night Raw star and he’s simply said he’ll win the title and bring it with him. This will be a House of Horrors match, though they have failed to make clear exactly what that is.

  • The Hardy Men vs. Cesaro & Sheamus (Raw tag team championship)

Cesaro and Sheamus defeated Enzo & Big Cass to become top contenders to the titles after the Hardy Men defeated The Club in their first defense after winning the straps at WrestleMania 33.

  • Neville vs. Austin Aries (Cruiserweight championship)

Aries stays winning multi-man number one contender matches.

Other matches likely for the card include Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins vs. Samoa Joe.
