Back in 2001, no one guessed the hit movie Fast & The Furious would spawn seven sequels (the latest of which, Fate of the Furious, hits theaters in the United States today, Friday, April 14) and become the highest grossing franchise in Universal Pictures history.
Business, of course, picked up when Dwayne Johnson joined the team back in 2011 for Fast Five. His turn as U.S. Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) agent Luke Hobbs was credited with saving the franchise and helped propel him to becoming the highest-grossing movie star in the world.
So, it’s not surprising he’d answer a question from BBC Radio about the secret of the films’ success like this - and it’s also not gonna shock anyone who’s enjoyed Johnson’s first and most famous character, WWE’s The Rock:
What IS the secret to The Fast and the Furious's success? @TheRock thinks he's cracked it for @AliPlumb https://t.co/8LXGMrKj49 pic.twitter.com/G2hZtk5Ltx— BBC Radio 1 (@BBCR1) April 14, 2017
You kind of smelled what he was cooking before you even clicked play, right?
