Like many wrestling fans in 2017, I’m a little conflicted when it comes to Jim Cornette. But as someone who was watching Jim Crockett Productions in the 1980s, I have no qualms about saying he’s one of the best, and my favorite, wrestling managers of all-time.
Something Jim and I - and many fans - have in common is our love for two-time NXT Tag champs, The Revival. When word came down Cornette would be returning to the WWE fold in order to induct his old rivals The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express into the Hall of Fame, some imaginations ran wild.
Well, the tennis racket-wielding Cornette and the Top Guys ran into each other at a WrestleMania Axxess event yesterday, and Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson Tweeted out pictures. The tease from Dawson in particular is so good I don’t even know what to do with myself...

If Corny strolled out to the ring in Amway Center tomorrow night (April 1) at TakeOver: Orlando to corner The Revival as they try to reclaim the tag belts from Authors of Pain, serving as an equalizer against Hall of Famer Paul Ellering, and inevitably screwing over #DIY, NXT’s true-blue babyface equivalent of Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson?
Forget about it.
And while we’re on the subject of “The Rock ‘n’ Roll”, Dash also included a pic of he and his partner with Morton, one half of the newest team in the WWE Hall, when Tweeting the Cornette pic:

Morton & Robert Gibson are still working - see The Hardy’s “Total Nonstop Deletion” for a high profile example - so maybe after Cornette assists The Revival in becoming NXT Tag champs again, their first defense can be against The Express?
WrestleMania weekend truly is the time for dreams.
