With only four matches announced for TakeOver: Orlando this Saturday (April 1), it seemed clear at least one more match would be added to the card. And seeing as the March 22 episode of NXT ended with these eight people brawling, many assumed some combination of Eric Young, Nikki Cross, Alexander Wolfe, Killian Dain, Tye Dillinger, Ruby Riot, No Way Jose & Roderick Strong would be involved in whatever was added.
Turns out it will involve all of them in an eight-person tag.
The feud between EY’s SAnitY group and Dillinger & friends has been raging since TakeOver: San Antonio, so it’s fitting they’ll battle on another live special WrestleMania weekend. It’s not clear if this will be an unprecedented WWE intergender match or if it’ll be contested under traditional mixed tag rules - Cross has frequently mixed it up with male wrestlers, and the announcement during the ‘go home’ show only referred to it as an “eight man tag”. We’ll let you know if they clarify that, or if they’ll keep us in suspense until this weekend.
We’ll also wait to see if this marks the end of the SAnitY vs. Super-Friends feud.
Here’s the updated card for TakeOver: Orlando, coming our way Saturday at 8PM Eastern on WWE Network:
- Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Bobby Roode (c) for the NXT championship
- Asuka (c) vs. Ember Moon for the Women’s title
- Authors of Pain (c) vs. #DIY vs. The Revival in an elimination Triple Threat for the tag team championship
- Andrade “Cien” Almas vs. Aleister Black
- SAnitY vs. Tye Dillinger, No Way Jose, Roderick Strong & Ruby Riot
