Big Show broke the news, and then there was a bunch of chatter about it online, but according to Wrestling Observer, WWE has confirmed Rusev did indeed undergo surgery on his shoulder sometime last week.
Still no word on the extent of the damage, or if it was an existing condition, something which happened in training or a match, or a combination. A number of viewers have pointed out Rusev’s shoulder has just looked strange for a while - but that’s just a fan observation, not medical opinion.
We’re also not clear as to how long he’ll be out, but obviously, the report that WrestleMania 33 is out of the question looks confirmed.
At least the Bulgarian George Clooney is keeping his sense of humor:
Get over it it's been a while. https://t.co/ZW7tmiYHPV
