What you see above is the full match video WWE released featuring Kevin Owens defending the Intercontinental championship against Dolph Ziggler at last year’s Fastlane pay-per-view. We’re posting it here not just because it’s a good match worth taking another look at but to magnify just how far Owens has come in such a short period of time.
This year, he’ll roll into the Fastlane event as the Universal champion in the main event match opposite Goldberg. He will do so coming off one of the best angles WWE has shot on Monday Night Raw in its history. And while he’s likely going to lose the title, it will almost surely be in service of getting him to a match at WrestleMania against Chris Jericho, one that, to at least one segment of the fan base, will be far more compelling than Goldberg’s match against Brock Lesnar.
This is all to say, essentially, that Kevin Owens rules and we’re lucky to have him on our TV screens each week.
