Everybody loves (or loves to hate) when an independent or international wrestler who’s signed with WWE gets their company-owned name.
That not everyone who joins the ‘E goes through this any more makes it a little more newsworthy when it does happen. And it also helps when someone ends up with a cool sounding name that fits their character... which is what’s happened for Heidi Lovelace (at least in my humble opinion).
We learned about her new moniker via what’s likely a dark match from the taping at UCF tonight (Feb. 22) - full spoilers are here.
Say hello to Ruby Riot.

There’s mixed reaction to this online, some of which likely stems from the fact that most of us don’t like change. We were used to Heidi Lovelace, just like we were used to Prince Devitt, KENTA, Kevin Steen, El Generico, Nikki Storm, Kana and others.
But, as you can see from the headline, I love it. Ruby Riot really fits Lovelace’s punk rock look and persona. Plus, alliteration is cool.
Agree? Disagree? Let’s discuss.
