No one won the number one contender battle royal on SmackDown Live

Because Randy Orton said he wouldn’t challenge Bray Wyatt for the WWE championship at WrestleMania 33, his Royal Rumble victory apparently rendered meaningless, a 10-man battle royal was booked to determine the next title challenger. That match happened on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live in Ontario, California.

Your new top contender: No one!

Order of eliminations (and who eliminated them):

1. Mojo Rawley (Baron Corbin)
2. Kalisto (Dolph Ziggler)
3. Dolph Ziggler (Apollo Crews)
4. Apollo Crews (Baron Corbin)
5. The Miz (John Cena)
6. Baron Corbin (Dean Ambrose)
7. John Cena (The MIz)
8. Dean Ambrose (Luke Harper)
9. AJ Styles
9. Luke Harper

After an actually thrilling battle royal, it came down to Styles and Harper as the final two. They had one hell of a back-and-forth that ended when Harper yanked Styles to the floor and fell down alongside him. It looked clear Styles hit first but they avoided showing any replays and Daniel Bryan ran down to rule that the match was declared a draw.

But don’t worry, they’ll settle it next week, he says.
