When Naomi was forced to relinquish her SmackDown women’s championship due to a knee injury, Alexa Bliss asked SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan if he would simply give the title back to her. He wouldn’t, of course. He chose instead to book a championship bout pitting Bliss against another former champion, the women Alexa won the title from, Becky Lynch.
It didn’t matter.
That’s because, after the apron got pulled up and the referee was busy pushing it back down and had his eyes elsewhere, Bliss took a cheap shot to Lynch’s throat. That gave her the opening to roll Becky up to get the three count to become a two-time champion.
After, Mickie James came out to congratulate her friend before rushing Lynch (who fought her off). This was, essentially, a quick rewind but with Naomi simply out of the picture thanks to an unfortunate injury.
