WWE’s latest list video, the above “5 rivalries that need a redo”, actually plants the seeds for a few feuds we might get in 2017. Personally, none of them jazzes me more than the last one, a return to the Kofi Kingston vs. Randy Orton beef from 2009 that threatened to get Kingston to the next level until a botch allegedly ended Kofi’s push.
But with the Viper & the New Day’s veteran on separate brands, Undertaker & Kane probably not in condition to do much with their rivalry and very few people outside of the executive floor at Titan Tower interested in Goldberg/Triple H, it’s the other two rivalries that seem to have been included to whet our appetite.
The pause button really was hit on Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns’ story at WrestleMania play button 31. It’s kind of amazing we haven’t had a one-on-one showdown between these Superstars in almost two years. But with the Big Dog clearly established as the top man on Raw, and Lesnar rumored to be getting a Universal title shot at this year’s Show of Shows, I can’t be the only one thinking Roman will finally overcome the Beast sometime around, say, this August in Brooklyn?
And then there’s Miz and John Cena. The rumors that Cena will drop the World title so he & girlfriend Nikki Bella can work a mixed tag match with the A-Lister & wife Maryse have been so prevalent there’s very little suspense heading into the main event of this Sunday’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view (PPV). It can’t be a coincidence WWE is reminding us of WrestleMania 27 here, can it?
But what do I know? It’s the usual well put together video from the company’s ace production team... watch it yourself and let us know what you think.
