It’s been almost three years since April “AJ Lee” Mendez left pro wrestling and WWE behind. She left a lasting impact, though. And I’m not just talking about quantifiable things like increased screen time for women or debate-fodder like whether she was overrated in the ring.
I mean the sister can still stir $#!+ up long distance without even trying.
Mendez tweeted some pics from a National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) event she spoke at recently...
Huge thank you to NAMI New Jersey & Aruna Rao for having me as keynote speaker at this year’s conference. Can’t believe I didn’t curse once. pic.twitter.com/nlSkdwITHu

And one of her “children” from WWE responded with a comment about AJ returning to a lighter hair color:
I like your hair

That prompted another mentee to get competitive...
I like your hair more @TheAJMendez (back up @itsBayleyWWE ) https://t.co/LD4t1l3CwU

Mama Mendez tried to settle things down, but couldn’t resist taking a shot at her large adult son...
You beautiful unicorns, you know I love all my children equally. Well except for Big E, who comes in a distant 3rd place. https://t.co/7ZmUh1sRhH

Who seems to still be harboring a grudge from that time she ribbed him about breaking her chest for weeks/years...
I can’t wait to put you in a nursing home. https://t.co/Amh3yWlqLR

Aren’t families fun?
