WWE RAW RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR DEC. 4
Run the race that will lead to nowhere fast, trapped in the haze of this mindless false reality. Wandering a path laid out by fools, that they call "progression," where chaos rules. There is more to life than this; we are more than just this flesh. We are alive and our time has come for a new awakening, but me, I'm just here to liveblog this pro wrestling show, folks.
The show opens with a recap of last week's Intercontinental Championship match and Samoa Joe's attack in the aftermath thereof.
Live in the arena, Kurt Angle makes his entrance. He welcomes us to the show and puts the show over, talking up the tag title match and the Intercontinental Championship match tonight. He goes to introduce Roman Reigns' opponent and Jason Jordan interrupts. Jordan gets in the ring and asks him to hold on, which gets him boos. He says he wants Roman and his dad says he can't be serious, with his knee still taped up.
Jason protests and says he's fine, and ever since he came to Raw he's wrestled Reigns, John Cena, Braun Strowman, Kane, the Miz, and he's held his own with every last one of them. Roman's issued an open challenge to anyone who wants to step up and take it, and he's ready to step up, because he knows he can beat him, he just needs a chance. Kurt thinks about it for a second--
Enter Roman Reigns. He gets in the ring and sizes Jordan up before saying he's a fighting champion and he picks who he fights. It's not his son, he wants Samoa Joe. To Jason he says if he wants an opportunity, don't run to your daddy, step up and take it. Jordan laughs at him and is incredulous that Roman would talk to him about earning opportunities when he's the poster boy for everything WWE management wants.
The Big Dog says he's right about one thing, he's been on a lot of posters and he's been on a lot of chairs because he's main evented a lot of shows, but he wasn't given it. He grinded for it, worked hard for seven years straight and again, if Jordan wants something, he needs to step up and take it. They face off and Angle gets between them--
Enter Samoa Joe. He says as much as he'd like to sit in the back and watch them pretend to talk tough, his patience has worn thin. If Roman's done patronizing the kid, he'll accept his challenge and because at times he's merciful, he'll give him a little reprieve, five seconds to withdraw his challenge because he knows he can't beat him.
Jason busts in with a "Hey Joe" and says he doesn't have to come out here and talk tough (which gets him a look from Roman like he just farted), because he is tough, and he doesn't have to attack people from behind to issue a challenge, just like he challenged Roman and how he'll challenge Joe right now. Reigns says the five seconds are done... and Jason comes from behind with a belly-to-belly suplex!
Roman tells Joe he can wait for later tonight, but Jordan's getting right now, and he orders Kurt to make the match! Angle calls for a referee and it's on!
After the break, that is.
Jason Jordan vs. Roman Reigns (c) (WWE Intercontinental Championship)
Jordan with a waistlock, Reigns breaks with a back elbow, forearm, kicks and punches in the corner as referee John Cone counts and backs him off and Samoa Joe looks on from the ramp. More punches, hammer whip, and he dumps Jason to the floor and follows after, putting him into the barricade and breaking the count. Taking him around, Roman puts him into the steel steps and rolls him back inside.
Jordan with defiant right hands, but Roman cuts him off and lariats him right back to the floor! Drive-By connects as he tries to return and Reigns puts him back in for the cover... only a nearfall! Reverse chinlock applied, Joe looming in the distance, the Big Dog mock encourages Kurt Angle's Biological Son and he slowly fights to his feet and rams the champion into the corner!
Shoulder thrusts, double leg pickup, across the ring into the turnbuckles on the far corner, he picks him up again and does the same a second time, a third, and a fourth. Jordan's fired up and goes on the charge but Reigns sidesteps him and he passes him back around into the ringpost to send us to break.
Back from commercial and Jordan is in control, with an armbar locked deep on the Big Dog. He rises to standing, wrenching it in, but Roman throws a few right hands and a headbutt to break. Off the ropes, Jason runs right into the trio of lariats, then the ten corner lariats and the Mafia kick finale hits home for a nearfall! Calling for it... Jordan blocks the Superman Punch with a dropkick!
Another double leg lift, Reigns fights out with elbows and sends Jason to the floor again with a big slicing right. He staggers around, Roman comes charging, leap off the steps... JORDAN CATCHES HIM AND RAMS HIM INTO THE STEPS! He puts him in the steps again and rolls him inside, makes the cover... NOPE! Back suplex clutch, Reigns fights out with elbows, Jordan shoots him off and catches him with the back suplex on the rebound for a tight nearfall that sends us to break.
Back from commercial and the Big Dog is in control, throwing strikes into a DDT for a nearfall. From there into a half-crab, dragging him into the center of the ring but Jordan posts on his hands and keeps crawling to force the break and manages to roll through into a cradle... NO GOOD! Superman Punch connects... NOT ENOUGH! Both men down and out, they rise slowly, Roman calls for it but Jordan shorts him with a front kick!
Northern lights suplex rolled through into a bridging one... only a nearfall! Jason goes for the back suplex but Reigns counters rolling through it...
Roman Reigns wins by pinfall with the spear, retaining the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
Samoa Joe gets on the mic and says he'll finish the job and put Roman to sleep. He slides in the ring and we have a brawl but a tired Roman succumbs to some knees and the Coquina Clutch is on... JORDAN MAKES THE SAVE WITH A BACK SUPLEX! Jason is preoccupied jawing at Samoa... SUPERMAN PUNCH!
The Big Dog stands tall in his yard with his title as Joe makes sleepytime gestures at him.
Commentary hypes up our tag title match for later and Sasha Banks vs. Paige for after the break.
Back from commercial we get a recap of what we just saw because Raw is three hours long.
In his office, Kurt Angle is making excuses to Stephanie McMahon on the phone when Jason Jordan rolls up to beg for a rematch next week. But first, he HAS to give him a match against Samoa Joe tonight. Angle asks him who he is to demand all these things and the last thing he needs is anyone thinking he's playing favorites. Jason begs some more and Kurt tells him he'll take it under advisement but he needs to leave and cool off.
SAMOA JOE ATTACKS! He wipes Jordan out hard and trash talks both of them before leaving, his statement made.
We now go to recaps of Absolution's formation and their actions last week.
Absolution then make their entrance, but Paige's match will have to wait until after the break.
Back from commercial, we see that Alexa Bliss has joined commentary.
Sasha Banks makes her entrance with Mickie James and Bayley at her side to even the numbers.
Paige vs. Sasha Banks
Circling, collar and elbow, Sasha forces her into the ropes but Paige catches her with a slap after the break! The Boss fires off a return slap but Paige gets right in there with a headbutt and a scream, off the ropes, Banks with the Lou Thesz Press into mounted punches, a handful of hair and taunting, a biel follows. Another biel, stomps in the corner, elbows and referee Darrick Moore has to pull her off for the break.
Paige capitalizes, putting her into the turnbuckles, a mat slam, a Penalty Kick, only two and she grabs a reverse chinlock. Transition to a rear chinlock and then into a half-halch, whip to the corner but Sasha comes back with elbows. Rolling solebutt from Paige, follows it up with a biel and puts boots to the Boss in the corner. Choking her over the middle rope, shoulder takeover into Red Ink!
A cover after the break, only two but Paige stays on her, grabbing a front chancery when Banks catches her in a small package for two. Paige returns a kick, right hands in the corner, and again Moore warns her off. Repeated stomps, Sasha catches one, front kick, off the ropes, tilt-a-whirl headscissors, charging in, up and over to the apron, headed up top, diving crossbody, only a nearfall!
Japanese stranglehold follows, the Boss falling back to the mat and putting knees and then feet into her back. Rolling over to seated, smashing Paige's face into the mat but she's able to get a foot on the ropes and force the break. Paige confers with the rest of Absolution before unloading with a double leg into mounted punches! Banks turns it around, punches of her own before slamming Paige's face into the mat.
Right hand from Paige, scoop denied, Bank Statement countered, Rampaige denied and the Boss runs the both of them to the floor to send us to break.
Back from commercial, Paige has a front chancery, raining hammer blows down, Sasha gets to her feet and she takes her to the apron to choke her in front of Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. Paige connects with a headbutt and goes back to choking her over the ropes, this time with her hands over the top. Mock clapping and a bow, the Boss with a schoolboy pin that gets two and Paige throws a kick for her trouble.
Whip, boot up, Sasha like a freight train with forearms and knees, Paige dodges the corner knees, corner knee of her own, a mare, up top but Banks cuts her off with a double axehandle. Climbing to meet her, thinking superplex, Paige blocks and steps up... BIG SUNSET FLIP POWERBOMB... NOT ENOUGH! Trading forearms, thinking Bank Statement, Paige denies it her and puts her into the buckles.
Up for Rampaige, Sasha slips out, Bank Statement crossface on, wrenching but Paige is able to force the break with a foot on! Deville and Rose get into it on the floor with James and Bayley and Absolution stands tall, taunting the Boss and creating an opening for Paige to kick her face in and hoist her up...
Paige wins by pinfall with Rampaige.
Post-match, Sonya and Mandy put boots to the Boss! Knee lifts from Deville and Rose hits a gourdbuster over Sonya's knee!
Absolution raise Paige's hands and stand tall.
Backstage Kurt Angle is texting someone when a guitar starts playing and Elias drifts into frame. He asks Angle to put his phone away and hold his applause until he's done, and Kurt asks what he wants. The Drifter wants another shot at Roman and tells Angle he's blatantly playing favorites and the City of Angels wants to walk with Elias. But since there are no good opponents left, a musical performance is all they're gonna get.
The Drifter tells him some by sin rise, and some by virtue fall, and that's a warning that his bastard son might be the end of him. Angle says the WWE Universe does deserve better and he promises to find Elias a worthy opponent.
Commentary promises a look at Kane and Braun Strowman's feud and we go to break.
Back from commercial we're shown a man that Kevin Owens once powerbombed off the stage in the front row.
Commentary then tosses to the promised video package on the Kane/Strowman feud.
Backstage, Enzo Amore is addressing the Zo Train, talking about how Tony Nese and Drew Gulak have the opportunity of a lifetime tonight and they better seize it. He asks if Noam Dar and Ariya Daivari realize they let Rich Swann beat them last week, and they're all a direct reflection of him, and he's a winner and not a loser. Lotta things happen on the Zo Train, but two things they don't do are lose and lose again.
He tells Gulak and Nese to go out there and get the job done and all four men leave fired up when he turns around to face a smiling Nia Jax. She asks him how he's doin' and leaves as he reflects on what just happened and we go to break.
Back from commercial in time for a recap and the bell!
Cedric Alexander vs. Drew Gulak vs. Mustafa Ali vs. Tony Nese (WWE Cruiserweight Championship #1 Contender's Qualifying Match)
Nese and Gulak in control early, Alexander goes to shoot a headlock off but can't, reverses it, shoot off, handspring Frankensteiner into a dropkick! Ali clears Nese out with a dropkick of his own and charges in at Cedric only to get pinned and have to escape with a bridge. Headlock, shoot off, headscissors takeover and Alexander lands on his feet! Mustafa with a side headlock, shoot off, drop down, leapfrog, cartwheel but Ali comes up lame and the Zo Train yank him out of the ring!
CEDRIC ALEXANDER TOPE CON GIRO! He takes Gulak back in, gets a cover for two, half halch but Drew rams him in the corner and Tony saves with forearms and the ex-Evolve men put boots to him and hang him up in the Tree of Woe. Nese with the kicks out of crunches while Gulak holds him still, Tony to the second but Drew informs him it's a no-fly zone and pulls him down and argues with him about it.
They jaw at each other and Ali wipes them both out with a diving crossbody! Tony with a shoulder thrust that puts Mustafa in the corner, Gulak joins him in putting boots to the former Freelance Champion, following it up with punches but Ali fights back valiantly. Whip across, Mustafa with a kick and Alexander's back in with lariats for Drew. He takes his knee out with a sliding kick, Penalty Kick from the apron, he bids Gulak rise... SLINGSHOT REVERSE STO BUT NESE BREAKS IT UP!
Waistlock, standing switch, thinking Lumbar Check but Tony lands on his feet and hits an elbow! The match breaks down into a bit of "everybody do something cool" and we go to break.
Back from commercialy and Gulak has Alexander in a kneeling STF. Cedric posts to one knee and cracks off a right hand to break. Following it what chop, whip reversed, handspring gamengiri but Ali breaks the pin up! Nese comes in, knees to everybody, whip reversed and Ali and Alexander hit stereo superkicks before windmilling punches on each other!
Big back elbow from Cedric, he's fired up but Mustafa holds his waistband and connects with a reverse roundhouse! Big slap... RUNNING SPANISH FLY! TONY NESE BREAKS IT UP! Ali with an uppercut, up top, Tony cuts him off, back body drop puts Alexander on the apron, a right hand, he climbs, Nese catches him with a shotei! Tony thinking superplex, Cedric fighting him off with punches, Mustafa wakes up and stands on the second... SPRINGBOARD SPANISH FLY! CRAWLING FOR THE COVER... GULAK BREAKS IT UP!
Gulak slapping away, going for a suplex, Ali floats over into a pin and a nearfall and the action moves to the corner, gamengiri from the apron, Mustafa climbs but Nese saves his partner! Ali draws him up but Tony connects with a knee and follows it up with that freight train knee of his! Alexander comes from behind... LUMBAR CHECK! BUT NESE FALLS TO THE FLOOR!
LUMBAR CHECK ON ALI! GULAK COMES IN AND KICKS CEDRIC TO THE CURB!
Drew Gulak wins by pinfall with a lateral press, qualifying for next week's WWE Cruiserweight Championship #1 Contender's Match opposite Rich Swann.
Drew is interviewed after the match as to whether he's conflicted. He equivocates before saying he'd like to answer in the form of a Powerpoint presentation... which we will not get to see, because the Raw theme starts playing and we see Elias walking backstage on the tron.
Commentary tosses to a preview of the new episode of Total Divas and we go to break.
Back from commercial, it's time for us to walk with Elias.
He does his usual introductory spiel and runs Los Angeles down, saying he's beyond celebrity, he's talent, fame, music, the air we breathe, everything. He picks out a member of the crowd to mock for not being famous and reminds us that Kurt Angle promised him competition, but for now he has a song to sing. Predictably it's about how much the people in LA suck.
(RRROOOAAAARRR!)
Braun Strowman comes out, Kurt wasn't playing around!
The Drifter runs away until Braun poses for the crowd and he attacks from behind! This ends poorly as Strowman attacks right back, corner avalanche, a biel, just chucking him out of the ring. Samson gets boots up agains the barricade and manages to put Braun into the ringpost before breaking his guitar over Strowman's back to no effect! Headed back inside, stumbling, out the other side and Braun runs him over with a lariat!
He tosses him back inside, scoops him up... RUNNING POWERSLAM! The monster among men throws both halves of the steel steps into the ring! But before he can enact whatever evil intentions are on his mind, Kane's music hits and he turns to stare the entry down. Kane appears in the smoke-filled room and tells Braun that he's been a monster among men for so long that perhaps he's forgotten what it's like to be a monster among monsters.
Kane delights in pain, horror, and next week he'll delight as they step into the ring again, and together they'll descend into the abyss, but only one monster will emerge. He backs away laughing.
Commentary recaps Jordan/Reigns from earlier.
In the locker room, Roman says he did his part and it's time for them to do theirs, and the camera reveals his Shield teammates. Seth Rollins says every time it's them and the Bar, they get the job done. Dean Ambrose is confused that the rematch is tonight and Rollins asks if he has a cell phone before Dean reveals it was a joke and he's been thinking about it all day and visualizing how it's gonna be when they win.
In fact, he can smell it, and it smells like gold. Fist bumps all around and they depart.
Asuka will be in action after the break.
Back from commercial, commentary plugs some of John Cena's media appearances to promote his new movie.
Alicia Fox gets a picture-in-picture promo claiming she'll do better than Dana Brooke did because she was captain of Team Raw and she got a t-shirt.
Alicia Fox vs. Asuka
Fox in with a kick and right hands, a biel and a bulldog headlock but Asuka shoots her off and shoulder blocks her all fired up. Another one, running hip attack but Alicia is able to come back with a big boot for a nearfall. Trying again, cover still comes up empty and she grabs a kneeling surfboard but Asuka gets to her feet and escapes. Disdainful slaps from Fox just fire Asuka up, strike rush, off the ropes with a pinpoint dropkick!
Waistlock, Alicia breaks away with an elbow, thinking scissors kick but Asuka dodges, roundhouse kick, reverse roundhouse, flying armbar...
Asuka wins by submission with a cross armbar.
Paige's music hits and Absolution make their way to the stage. They surround the ring again and a smile plays across Asuka's face before she takes her leave and Paige gets on the mic. She tells Foxy to relax and says she's not here to hurt her and she needs to believe that. She's her friend, actually, the only one who liked her a year ago. Her best friend, in fact, and she has to believe that from the bottom of her heart, Paige loves her.
She just, uh, doesn't think Sonya and Mandy feel the same way. Paige takes a step back and they hop up on the apron and into the ring. Alicia tries to take it to them but two on one they have her outnumbered and Deville sends her into a knee strike from Rose before following it up with her own sliding knee! Absolution stand tall raising Paige's hand again.
Finn Balor is walking backstage, he'll have a match after the break.
Back from commercial commentary hypes up the Psych movie and tosses to a sneak peek based around Charlotte Flair's guest appearance.
Bo Dallas vs. Finn Balor
Circling, collar and elbow, Balor goes behind but Dallas fights him off, side headlock, shoot off, shoulder block into a quick cover and Bo wants more! Waistlock to a kidney shot, Finn puts him in the corner and beats on him, snapmare to a shoot kick to the back, only good for one. Knee lift connects, whip reversed, Dallas sunset flip but Balor pops out, dropkick to the face.
Finn looking for maybe a hammerlock, Bo rams him into the corner but Balor is able to level him with a kick and perch up top when Curtis Axel kicks the steps to distract him and Dallas hangs him up on the top rope! Knee lifts in the ropes, Finn is gasping and Bo hits him in the breadbasket. Kick to the ribs, another, fisherman's gutbuster, only gets two!
Top wristlock applied, Balor fights to his feet and Dallas slams him to the mat. Wristlock kicks to the ribs followed by a knee drop and back to the top wristlock. Again Finn fights to his feet and Bo shoves him into the corner but he rallies with boots up. Lariats, double leg takedown into a double stomp, whip reversed twice in quick succession, Balor takes the buckles hard, schoolboy with a handful of tights... NOPE!
Off the ropes, Sling Blade, shotgun dropkick, Finn climbs up top...
Finn Balor wins by pinfall with Coup de Grace.
Commentary hypes up Matt Hardy's awakening and we go to break.
Back from commercial and commentary shows us a few of Matt's recent Broken Tweets.

Back to Matt and he says he's lied dormant in this vessel but has been WOKEN!
Back to Wyatt and he says last week wasn't Hardy's breaking point, it was his, and he feels alive again. There's a fire in him that's only growing stronger, and his fire will not cleanse or save you, it will make sure all of you burn.
Back to Matt and he says Bray has left him with no choice, he sentences him to DELETION!
They laugh at each other to close the segment out.

Cesaro and Ambrose to start, waistlock reversed to a side headlock, reversed, shot off, Dean with the shoulder block, drop down, arm drag, another into an armbar, Swiss Superman posting to his feet and tagging Sheamus in. Ambrose throwing chops, putting the Celtic Warrior in the corner for boots, arm wringer, but Cesaro pulls Rollins off the apron and leaving Sheamus to lay Dean out and ram him into their corner.
Tag to Cesaro, right hands, quick tag, stereo superkicks, off the ropes with a basement boot and choking him after, raking his face over the ropes, jawing at the ref so the Swiss national can get a choke of his own in. Sheamus moves to a top wristlock, Ambrose throwing hands and Sheamus double legs him into the corner. Up and over, tag to Seth, in with a springboard lariat, he clears the apron after.

Back from commercial and Rollins is reaching for the tag as Cesaro blocks him with a waistlock. Punches and chops from the Architect but the Swiss Superman gets a wristlock and a tag and he and Sheamus wipe him out with a double lariat. Setting up the Beats of the Bodhran, Sheamus rains two down before making the tag. Rollins fighting hard, Cesaro lands a back suplex for two.
Sheamus tags back in, diving lariat gets another nearfall and he goes to the top wristlock afterwards, running his mouth. Seth to his feet, he gets a headbutt to break, clears the apron, flips over to counter Irish Curse into a DDT and the road is clear! Cesaro tags in and runs Rollins back into their corner with a front facelock before grabbing an armbar.
Wrenching back on the hand to hyperextend the elbow, shifting to a single underhook, Seth picking him up desperate for the tag, testing each other's strength when Cesaro breaks away to knock Ambrose off the apron with a boot! Rollins gets a back body drop but nobody's there and Sheamus tags in... MILITARY PRESS DROPPED INTO SWISS DEATH! NOPE!

Gotch clutch, Rollins floats out, wrist clutch, ripcord knee strike... SHEAMUS BREAKS IT UP AND PUTS BOOTS TO THE ARCHITECT! Running knee takes Dean off the apron and he keeps stomping as referee Shawn Bennett warns him...
The Shield win by disqualification.
After the bell, Sheamus puts boots to Rollins for another little bit before Bennett finally pulls him off for good and he and Cesaro celebrate their victory.
Kurt Angle appears at the entry and says the Bar aren't getting off that easily. They say they don't just raise the bar, and he'll give them a chance to prove it-- the match is restarting and it's no disqualification!
