We don’t have anything but eyewitness accounts and Twitter video at this point, but a scene during the Absolution vs. Sasha Banks, Bayley and Mickie James tag match at WWE’s Uniondale, New York live event this evening (Dec. 27) has a lot of people concerned for Paige’s health.
After taking a kick from Sasha (most reports are claiming this was delivered while Paige’s back was turned, and has led to Twitter noise in the form of finger-pointing among fans on Twitter), the former Divas champion went down and the match was stopped. While medical staff checked on her, and a visibly concerned Banks looked on, a stretcher was brought to ringside. Fortunately, Paige got up and did not need to be wheeled out.
Here’s some video of the scene, including the 25 year old Brit walking out on her own, but with assistance from trainers:
Paige injured during match at #WWEUniondale. Scary moment as stretcher brought out. This was a shoot, not a part of the show. #WWELI #WWE pic.twitter.com/6LRYqoiOfE

Paige left the ring with no stretcher but with doctors help. Might have been a shoulder injury. Thankfully she didn’t need the stretcher. #WWEUniondale

This is especially concerning for Paige, as she’s a little over a year removed from major neck surgery. She’s been wrestling since she was 13, and recently told Lillian Garcia on Chasing Glory that she suffers from scoliosis as a result of all the bumps she’s already taken in her young life.
Hopefully, this is a case of WWE taking every precaution in the ring for something that will turn out to be routine, but we can’t know anything other than that there was concern among the professionals dealing with the situation in Long Island tonight - and that concern spread among those in attendance and the online community.
We’ll update with any additional information as soon as we have it.
