This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw was... well, it happened on Christmas. That’s probably the key piece of information here.
USA Network did make the first hour commercial-free, and WWE delivered John Cena and some big plot developments - not the least of which was a surprising title change in the overrun.
Overall, this week’s episode drew 2.70 million viewers, down from last week’s 2.78 million. That’s actually up from two weeks ago, though, and the hourly drop off is more gradual, with the big dip coming when the ads returned at 9PM Eastern:
Hour one: 2.95 million
Hour two: 2.62 million
Hour three: 2.54 million
In addition to the holiday, there was competition from football, basketball, Doctor Who... you know, the usual. All things considered, WWE probably isn’t regretting the decision to run live on Dec. 25.
