Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin win frantic number one contender’s match

The first, commercial free hour of the post-Christmas SmackDown was anything but silent. After GM Daniel Bryan announced an upcoming US title tournament, three of SmackDown’s most dynamic duos pleaded their case for a shot at The Usos.

First, Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin made their case. Out second dressed in traditional Rusev Day attire were Aiden English and Rusev. Last but not least all three members of The New Day spoke on pancakes and title shots.

Left with no choice, Bryan made a three-way-dance for the number one contender’s spot and the match began immediately.

Gable, Benjamin, Rusev, English, Woods and Big E then went out and put on a match-of-the-night nominee.

The end would come after Rusev locked in a double Accolade on Woods and Gable. Benjamin would make the save before getting tackled by Big E. In the chaos, Gable and Benjamin brought home the victory with a powerbomb Doomsday Device finisher on Big E.

It’s , The Usos vs. Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin coming soon (next week) to a SmackDown title match near you. Is it time for Gable and Benjamin to pull off the upset, have a run with the tag titles?
