WWE offered up a cross between a holiday special and a pay-per-view (PPV) fallout show on Dec. 19, but fans embraced it like the follow-up to Clash of Champions.
Viewership climbed to 2,578,000 - not a remarkable number, but the blue brand’s best of the month. It was also good enough for fifth among cable originals, behind only History’s Curse of Oak Island, Rachel Maddow on MSNBC and Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson on Fox News.
Curse won the ratings battle, as usual, but SmackDown saw their share of 18-49 year olds climb back up to .75 after dipping to .71 last Tuesday.
The forecast for a Boxing Day edition with (as of now) no pre-announced segments or matches probably isn’t great. But worry about that later. Get elated about these Rusev Day numbers with this rundown of SmackDown’s audiences this year:
