If you listen to WWE and its convoluted way of thinking — we used to try tracking it, but explaining certain things away became too difficult — Asuka is undefeated during her entire stint with the company. This includes her run in NXT.
The reality is you can only get there with qualifiers because she is not, in fact, undefeated. Actually, she was beaten in a match by Eva Marie, who has since left WWE to pursue outside opportunities.
This is relevant today because WWE announced a Women’s Royal Rumble match for the pay-per-view (PPV) of the same name on Jan. 28 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the natural assumption is that Asuka is a favorite to win it.
So this is just a reminder that she’s been in a battle royal match during her time in WWE and she lost, thrown over the top rope with both feet hitting the floor thanks to the one and only Eva Marie.
