After Daniel Bryan served as one of the special guest referees for Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton’s match against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn on Sunday, Dec. 17 at Clash of Champions, the two old training partners shared this Twitter exchange:
I do not remember how many years passed. Anyway I surely stood in same ring with @WWEDanielBryan last night.

I wish it was under different circumstances... and I had my gear on https://t.co/FWH8X8CV9c

Cute, right? But not that different from a bunch of other “Daniel Bryan really wants to wrestle again” Twitter exchanges. Or interviews. Or Talking Smack segments. Or...
What is a little different about this is that WWE.com is... promoting is probably too strong a word, but... the company’s official website is covering Bryan openly fantasizing about a match with a current Superstar.
In the angle which led to the pay-per-view (PPV) match they officiated Sunday, DB is openly, but non-violently, feuding with Shane McMahon.
At some point, will these little puffs of smoke lead us to a comeback fire?
Guess we’ll just have to keep watching to find out.
