NXT results, live blog (Dec. 13, 2017): Adam Cole vs. Aleister Black

Here's a place to check results and comment along with the latest airing of WWE NXT! This edition also marks the show’s broadcast debut, so we’ll be updating results as it airs at 7PM Eastern on USA Network (it will still air in its regular Wednesday night at 8PM Eastern time slot on WWE Network).

Check out our Wednesday morning preview post to get caught up on what's been happening, and what we expect this week.

We'll post match results here, and we will also have our regular reactions post later. In the meantime, and most importantly, this gives you Cagesiders a dedicated place to rave and/or bitch about whatever happens on WWE’s third brand - during its initial broadcast!

NOTE: Spoilers are out there for these pre-taped broadcasts (including here), but many Cagesiders don't partake. If you are going to post or discuss spoilers for this show before they happen, or results of future shows, please use the spoiler bar in your comment.

Enjoy the show!

- After a emotionally-draining Law and Order: SVU, NXT gives the USA Network audience a recap of recent events in the NXT title scene from Andrade “Cien” Almas’ win at WarGames, Drew McIntyre’s injury, the Fatal 4Way qualifier announcements and Killian Dain and Johnny Gargano’s wins last Wednesday.

- Mauro Ranallo introduces us to Nigel McGuinness and Percy Watson, and hypes Cole vs. Black. Then, the champ is here! And so is Zelina Vega!

- NXT champ Andrade “Cien” Almas def. Fabian Aichner via pinfall following a hammerlock DDT in a non-title match; after a quick drop kick from El Ídolo, it’s all Aichner with a big springboard plancha onto the ramp, a Tornado DDT and a massive powerbomb. A distraction from Vega gets Almas the upperhand and he’s able to throw Fabian into the steps to soften him up for the end.

- Aleister Black gets a quick video intro to take us to commercial

- Major hype piece for Ember Moon, featuring Corey Graves, Charlotte Flair, Carmella and the woman herself all talking about how big she’ll be someday. That leads into a recap of her title win, complete with an operatic score, and then another commercial.

- Authors of Pain def. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch via pinfall following Final Chapter on Lorcan; the Brit-Am Brawlers catch the former champs off guard with an early flurry of strikes, but that really just pisses off Akam and Rezar, who hit Super Collider before wrapping things up in just a couple minutes.

- We’re reminded about next week’s two title matches, and then SAnitY delivers a pre-taped promo. Alexander Wolfe shows off his skull staples, and Nikki Cross dances around with a big bruise on her arm. Eric Young syas WarGames was as beautiful as they expected but the outcome was not ideal. But they haven’t left the battlefield, and next week they’ll finish what they started in Houston when they face Undisputed ERA with the belts on the line.

- Adam Cole gets a quick video intro, and they reveal that the person they teased last week is indeed Shayna Baszler.

- Aleister Black def. Adam Cole via pinfall following Black Mass to win a spot in the #1 contender Fatal 4Way; we learn Regal barred Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish from ringside, and the start sees their leader escape an early hold to showboat a bit before getting his butt kicked to the ramp for a commercial while Aleister sits. When we return, Adam has Black in a crossface, but he reaches the ropes and then takes some boots while Cole talks trash. That leads to a cool moment where Aleister scares him with a stare after the “Adam Cole, BAY BAY” taunt. Big comeback from Black, but Cole rolls out to avoid Black Mass. He tries to fly back in but is met with a kick for two. Enziguri and backbreaker gets AC a nearfall. Aleister elbows out of Fireman’s carry and they trade strikes. After getting out a roll-up, Cole hits the neckbreaker but can only get two. After a pause, a superkick is caught by Black, which leads to a bicycle knee. Adam got cocky and screamed “what do you got?”, and what he got was a kick in the face.

- Women’s champion Ember Moon vs. Peyton Royce (non-title)... err, actually, this match takes place on the WWE Network version, but did not play on the USA version... Women’s champion Ember Moon def. Peyton Royce via pinfall following the Eclipse in a non-title match; afterwards, Billie Kay attacks the champ, but Nikki Cross runs in and makes the save, chasing off the Iconic Duo
