The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the Clash of Champions show set to take place on Sun., Dec. 17, 2017, at the TD Garden Arena in Boston, Massachusetts. Unlike last year, this will be a SmackDown Live exclusive event, the final Network special for either brand before Royal Rumble next year.
We're just one week out from showtime and this is how the card looks:
- AJ Styles vs. Jinder Mahal (WWE championship)
This was going to take place on SmackDown but they pushed it back to this show. It’s pretty clearly the secondary story on the blue brand.
- Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn vs. Randy Orton & Shinsuke Nakamura
Shane McMahon has inserted himself as special guest referee, with the added stipulation that Owens and Zayn will be fired from WWE if they lose.
- The Usos vs. Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin vs. The New Day vs. Rusev Day (SmackDown tag team championship)
This was set to be a triple threat until Rusev and Aiden English defeated New Day and they were given entry into the match.
- Charlotte vs. Natalya (SmackDown women’s championship)
The Riott Squad interrupted Nattie’s rematch, so this was booked to make up for that. The rest of the women’s division will be involved as well because General Manager Daniel Bryan made it a Lumberjack match.
- Baron Corbin vs. Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler (U.S. championship)
There’s no good reason for Ziggler to be here but he’s here nonetheless.
That’s it. Don’t be surprised if they add Zack Ryder vs. Mojo Rawley and a Bludgeon Brothers match.
