They may not have Paige, but SmackDown’s invading women, The Riott Squad, are making their name by putting former champions out of action.
Following a beatdown during their trios match on the Nov. 28 episode (which turned into a three-on-two assault when Natalya walked out), Naomi will know be sidelined thanks to what ringside physician Dr. Stephen Daquine called “a cervical strain, a right-sided shoulder separation and a few facial contusions”.
Becky Lynch’s write-off is so she can film The Marine 6 with The Miz and Shawn Michaels in London. There haven’t been any reports Naomi would join her for another foray into the world Jake Carter and WWE Studios, so we’ll have to wait for reports of what she’ll be doing with her downtime.
Unless, of course, there’s some truth under those vague-sounding diagnoses. The throw into the barricade looked like something which could separate a shoulder, for instance.
Or she could just be getting a couple weeks off to help establish Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan as legitimate threats.
Pro wrestling, everybody!
Cathy Kelley promises updates as they’re available, and we’ll be sure to bring those to you, as well.
