NXT is back at their home base of Full Sail Live, where they'll tape matches and segments for their regular Wednesday night series on WWE Network.
Tonight’s show (Nov. 29) begins the build out from TakeOver: WarGames, and the road to January’s live special in Philadelphia on the eve of Royal Rumble. It’s also the last Full Sail taping in a while, since they’ll be shooting at Center Stage in Atlanta early next year.
This will be our first hints at how NXT will look with new champions Andrade “Cien” Almas and Ember Moon, as well as the fallout from Drew McIntyre’s injury and Undisputed ERA’s biggest win since joining WWE.
We’ll know more when results start rolling in from Winter Park, Florida. We'll be updating those here live, starting at the scheduled 6:30PM Eastern bell time:
- Mike Rome & Kayla Braxton run down some of the action that will be taped tonight— Four qualifying matches leading to a #1 contender’s fatal four-way match to determine Andrade “Cien” Almas’ first challenger, Ruby Riott vs. Sonya Deville in a no holds barred match, SAnitY defending the NXT Tag Team Championship against reDRagon, and Pete Dunne defending the WWE United Kingdom Championship against Tyler Bate.
- Wolfgang over Kona Reeves
- Andrade “Cien” Almas and Zelina Vega come out, and Vega cuts a promo about how everyone is witnessing the beginning of a historic title reign and needs to embrace the legend of El Idolo. Almas follows this up with his own bilingual promo about how he’s the champion and he hurt Drew McIntyre.
- Killian Dain over Trent Seven to qualify for the NXT Championship #1 Contender’s Fatal Four-way.
- Sonya Deville over Ruby Riott (No Disqualification Match)
- Johnny Gargano over Kassius Ohno to qualify for the NXT Championship #1 Contender’s Fatal Four-way.
- Lars Sullivan over Roderick Strong to qualify for the NXT Championship #1 Contender’s Fatal Four-way.
- Ember Moon over Peyton Royce. Post-match, Billie Kay attacks and the Icons beat Ember down until Nikki Cross makes the save. She runs the Australians off and departs running like a madwoman.
- Andrade “Cien” Almas over Fabian Aichner. After the match, Zelina cut a promo at the announce table.
- Aleister Black over Adam Cole to qualify for the NXT Championship #1 Contender’s Fatal Four-way.
- Authors of Pain (Akam & Rezar) over Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan.
- Undisputed ERA (Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly) over SAnitY (Eric Young & Killian Dain) (c) to win the NXT Tag Team Championship. The match featured interference from both Adam Cole and Nikki Cross.
- Ember Moon (c) over Sonya Deville to retain the NXT Women’s Championship.
- After the match, Kairi Sane comes down to challenge the champion when Shayna Baszler attacks! She chokes Kairi out and stares Moon down!
- Pete Dunne (c) over Tyler Bate to retain the WWE United Kingdom Championship.
- Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) over Shane Mercer & ???. Post-match, the Profits cut a promo calling out the tag division and saying they’ll conquer in 2018.
- Johnny Gargano over Aleister Black, Killian Dain, and Lars Sullivan to become #1 contender to the NXT Championship. Black had Sullivan beat at one point, but Undisputed came down and attacked him and Gargano was able to secure the win.
There you have it, folks
A couple of episodes of NXT to start us off on the road to TakeOver: Philadelphia. Like what you see, Cagesiders?
