Some positive news in the story of WWE personality David Otunga which came out before, and lead to his missing, Survivor Series.
Otunga is in the process of splitting with his long-time partner and the mother of his son, award-winning actress and singer Jennifer Hudson. During the break-up, Hudson and her legal team asked for and were granted a protective order against Otunga which led to him being escorted from their home and Hudson being granted primary custody of their 8 year old son, David, Jr.
TMZ reports that cooler heads have prevailed, and Hudson has voluntarily withdrawn the order. The site doesn’t specifically mention it, but you’d think that would also lead to the end of a domestic battery investigation TMZ said police opened in response to the claims she made about Otunga’s “aggressive, threatening and harassing behavior” which left her “living in fear”.
Hudson is in London filming The Voice UK, and will need to be in Los Angeles frequently to shoot for the singing competition show’s US version. During that time, Otunga will again be David, Jr.’s primary caregiver - a role he’s claimed has long been his as a result of Hudson’s professional schedule.
The couple is said to be in the process of working out a permanent, long-term custody arrangement. While a reunion between Otunga and Hudson isn’t likely to be in the cards, a move towards resolving things without court orders and the police is a great step - especially for David, Jr.
Fingers crossed the rest of this story plays out without another update from TMZ, or Cageside Seats.
