Some positive news about the health of WWE legend James ‘Kamala’ Harris

WWE.com

As mentioned in an edition of Rumor Roundup earlier this week, wrestling legend Kamala was hospitalized over the weekend. There were some conflicting reports about his condition, but we’re happy to report that all sources seem to agree his prognosis is currently better.

The 67 year old, whose real name is James Harris, has struggled with diabetes for years. In 2011 and 2012 he had his legs amputated as a result of complications from that disease and high blood pressure. His most recent issues were also said to caused by diabetic complications, with Pro Wrestling Sheet reporting he underwent an emergency procedure “due to his lungs and the area around his heart being filled with fluid”.

Stories went around that he was on life support, including one from WWE.com, and family, friends and fans feared the end was near. However, a new update from PWInsider (also reported by Pro Wrestling Sheet) provides a much better outlook. Harris is now breathing on his own and doctors are hoping to soon take him off a ventilator completely. Though still unable to talk, he’s alert enough to understand his doctors and those staying with and supporting him at the hospital.

While there’s undoubtedly a long, difficult road ahead, hopefully these are positive steps for Harris and his loved ones. Keep a good thought for them, and we’ll update with any meaningful news about his condition as it becomes available.
