Miz and Daniel Bryan have different ideas on who DB should face if he gets cleared by WWE

WWE on YouTube

It’s no great surprise that Miz and Daniel Bryan would disagree with each other on something. Despite the fact Bryan hasn’t wrestled in 31 months, these two have kept up one of the best rivalries in WWE - even while on different brands!

One thing they are on the same page about is a desire to see Bryan wrestle again - preferably, it seems, in a WWE ring. Beyond that, well, they’re on different pages again.

Miz told Sports Illustrated recently:

“I would love to beat him up. I would love to beat him up in a WWE ring. All day, everyday. You know, but I don’t know what the plans are for Daniel - I know his passion is in the WWE ring. Now whether that’s a General Manager, or a professional wrestler, I don’t know. I don’t know his plans. I know he’s working tremendously hard to get back in the WWE ring, and I’m - fingers crossed, because I would love to have a match with Daniel Bryan. He’s one of the best in-ring technicians that WWE has ever seen and I would like to showcase how much better I am than him.

If doctors sign him up and say, ‘Listen, this guy is okay’ I am more willing to kick him in the chest, in the stomach and hit him with the Skull-Crushing Finale a couple times.”

While a separate SI piece on Bryan mentions that he’d be interested in “a plethora of must-see matches”, the current SmackDown GM doesn’t namedrop The Most Must-See Superstar on the roster when discussing a dream opponent for a potential WWE comeback:

“One of my favorite guys to watch at WWE is AJ Styles. So, on the WWE stage, I would like to wrestle AJ Styles, only because I wrestled John Cena before.”

As much as I’d love to see Styles/Bryan, I actually think that might be second on my list should The Beard get a clean bill of health - after watching him get to shut Miz up after the trash-talking The A-Lister’s done over almost two years since DB’s retirement.

Since Bryan only gives it a 20% chance WWE will clear him, this probably isn’t worth spending too much time on... but I can’t help myself.
