The cards were stacked against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. 48 hours after the dynamic duo altered the blue brand’s chances at Survivor Series, they were placed in a lumberjack match with The New Day in the main event of tonight’s (Nov. 21) SmackDown.
After Shane McMahon nearly fired the Canadian friends to begin the show, Daniel Bryan compromised by placing them in a match they could not run from.
With a entire locker room of wrestlers surrounding the ring, Owens and Zayn fought for their own survival.

For much of the match Owens and Zayn were on the business end of attacks not only from The New Day but most of the lumberjacks. Needing only a single opening, the wrestlers surrounding the ring eventually started to fight among themselves and changed the course of the match in favor of the underappreciated underdogs.
During the chaos on the outside, Sami Zayn stuck in for a quick roll-up win on Kofi Kingston.
Post-match The New Day attacked a tired Owens and Zayn. Thanks to a distraction by Rusev and Aiden English, Owens was able to escape while Zayn was left to fend for himself.

Where did @FightOwensFight go? Oh, only backstage to BEG #SDLive GM @WWEDanielBryan not to fire him! pic.twitter.com/BtxaMG03ly

And when we say Sami Zayn fended for himself what we mean is he ate multiple finishers and was laid out cold by The New Day. To add insult to injury, the lasting image of SmackDown was Kevin Owens begging for his job from Daniel Bryan and getting booked in a match next week with Randy Orton for his efforts.
Not the best night for our favorite French-Canadian BFFs, could this be the beginning of the end for the Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn Mega Powers?
Not only was @WWEDanielBryan never going to fire @FightOwensFight... he has a match planned for him next week against @RandyOrton! #SDLive pic.twitter.com/2iGJSAkr5a
