Drew McIntyre comments on his injury: ‘It’s probably not good’

As several observers speculated, and Triple H later confirmed, Drew McIntyre was injured during his match against Andrade “Cien” Almas at NXT TakeOver: WarGames.

After losing the title and before getting a MRI to confirm the extent of the injury to his left arm, McIntyre spoke to Kayla Braxton backstage at the Toyota Center in Houston:

“I honestly don’t know. I felt something go in my arm, my bicep/elbow area... from experience, know it’s probably not good, but I won’t know anything official until I talk to the doctor.

I won’t make any excuses. It was a heck of a match tonight. And if it doesn’t turn out the way I hope it does, you know, you’re only as good as your last match. No matter what happens, I’m coming back, and I’m coming for my NXT title - unfinished business there. But right now, I’ve just got to deal with this.”

If it is a complete biceps tear, a quick check of the usual internet resources points to it being several months before he’ll be back in action. Being out for a possible 3 - 6 months is a tough blow, but he will have another chapter for his ongoing tale of overcoming adversity and refusing to quit.

We’ll keep you updated with any results WWE shares about his tests.
