WWE SURVIVOR SERIES LIVE BLOG & MATCH COVERAGE

See me ride out of the sunset on your color TV screen, out for all that I can get, if you know what I mean. Women to the left of me and women to the right, ain't got no gun, ain't got no knife; don't you start no fight because I'm just here to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The pre-show kicks off with Renee Young welcoming us to the show and introducing the rest of the panel, consisting this time of Peter Rosenberg, Jerry "the King" Lawler, and the Heartbreak Kid himself, Shawn Michaels. They start off talking the card up as a segue to shilling for the WWE Network. After running down the card, they toss to a video package covering Shield vs. New Day and panel discussion of the same.

The panel tosses to Charly Caruso in the social media lounge where she'll be joined by the Miz for a Q&A later tonight. We go outside with Sam Roberts in the crowd to run the card down and soak in the atmosphere. This leads to discussion of the women's Survivor Series Elimination Match and a backstage segment where Natalya rolls up on her teammates and tries to hype them up a bit.

Becky Lynch isn't super stoked about it and Nattie cedes the floor. Lynch lays out some strategy and they end up all on the same page, for the time being at least. Back to the panel for in-depth discussion and predictions for that match, before moving onto the women's champion vs. champion match. Alexa Bliss joins the panel and says she's been studying Natalya for weeks and weeks and it's not very fair to her to have Charlotte Flair in at the last minute.

She scoffs at the idea that she would have been touched by the moment Ric and Charlotte had after she won, and she says it's about her beating Charlotte, not about the Nature Boy coming out afterwards. The size discrepancy comes up, and Bliss says she's the only Five Feet of Fury in WWE and she'll be quicker, smarter, and more dominant than Flair. HBK pipes up in favor of her re: the size argument, which is kinda neat.

Charlotte joins the panel by satellite to say she's the Iron Woman of WWE, she doesn't get sick or run, and yes, Alexa may have held both titles first, but she's a Grand Slam Champion. Bliss fires back that Flair may be a legacy but she's the superior champion. Charlotte says she may have worked hard but she wasn't called up to be part of the Women's Revolution and she's not in her league.

Flair goes off on a weird tangent about hoping Alexa can beat her and in fact that's her challenge to her and I dunno. Anyway, the panel finishes up with that one and we go to the ring, where Elias is primed and ready to sing us a song.

He talks about how Raw, SmackDown, it doesn't matter because when the walls come tumbling down you have to wonder what he would do. He sings his song, and predictably it's about how crappy Houston and Texas are before Matt Hardy’s entrance cuts him off.

Elias vs. Matt Hardy

Collar and elbow, Elias gets a wristlock, Hardy reverses to a side headlock, turns it into a hammerlock, side headlock takeover when Samson tries to escape and grounds him momentarily. The Drifter to his feet, tries to back suplex himself out of it but Matt is canny and takes him right back to the mat with another takeover. Shoot off, Hardy holds onto the ropes, boot to the face, side Russian legsweep and he's feeling it.

To the second rope, elbow drop to the back of the neck gets two, and we take a break for a house ad for WrestleMania.

Back from commercial, Matt with a whip to a back elbow, elbow drop follows and gets two and he goes back to the headlock. Drifter gets him in the ropes and breaks dirty with a wrench of the arm and follows it up with punches and stomps as soon as it looks like Hardy might recover. To the apron, snapping his arm over the apron, kick to the shoulder and then a standing armbar to really wrench it in.

Standing knee drop, again targeting the shoulder, into the corner, pulling the arm over the ropes, hammerlock shove into the next corner over and again in the one beyond that for a cover that gets two. Top wristlock, Hardy struggles and Elias makes him regret it with a double underhook shoulderbreaker! Hammerlock over the ropes follows, Matt screaming agony, but he's able to catch Samson with Side Effect on the apron!

Back in the ring, Hardy throwing rights and smashing Elias into each turnbuckle over and over face-first. Delete corner lariat, running bulldog, a second Side Effect... NO GOOD! Jockeying for position in the corner, Matt gets a boot off, diving elbow drop, only a nearfall. Calling for it, arm hanging limp at his side, kick to the gut, but Elias counters the Twist of Fate and rams him shoulder-first into the post...

Elias wins by pinfall with Drift Away.

The panel discusses the last match and shills for the WWE Network before promising us the Miz Q&A up next after a preview for a movie in which John Cena is full of bull. We get a video package covering a bunch of Miz and Baron Corbin's internet promos before going to the Social Media Lounge for the Q&A.

Miz says the time for talk is done and he's gonna let his actions speak in the ring, where he is an elite-level talent, and Corbin will see exactly why. Baron talking about his wife and unborn child has given him a newfound focus and he'll unleash everything he has tonight. First question is about how Team Raw would react to a loss tonight, and the A-Lister says his whole goal as champion is to make the Intercontinental Championship the most prestigious title in the world, so losing isn't in his vocabulary.

The second question is about if he feels any pressure, and Miz talks about his trials and tribulations and how he's gotten to a point where he thinks he's the main event of any show he's on. Third question is about if Raw is good enough to beat SmackDown, and Miz says any show he's on succeeds. When he was on SmackDown, it was #1, now that he's on Raw, it's #1, and he elevates everyone by his mere presence.

The panel discusses the match before tossing to ringside for the Cruiserweight Championship match.

Enzo Amore makes his entrance, he does the deal. He talks about how this past Tuesday was Kalisto's birthday and he was nice enough to get him the best cake money could buy, and what did he get for his effort? He got his face shoved in the cake. So he woke up today feeling it was HIS birthday and he made a wish upon the star in his mirror and he knows his wish is coming true, and he's going to make beef stew out of Kalisto even though he's chicken and I dunno, I've lost the thread. SAWFT, etc.

Enzo Amore (c) vs. Kalisto (WWE Cruiserweight Championship)

Amore in hot with punches, backing Kalisto into the corner for shoulder thrusts, kicks to the gut, referee Darrick Moore warning him to back off but the Dragon Gate alumnus fires leg kicks off to get some separation and goes right for Salida Del Sol but the champion bails. Off the ropes, thinking about a dive but his target moves, he heads outside, Enzo goes right back in, shoulder block from the apron into a slingshot sunset flip... NOPE!

Trying to draw Amore up from the apron but the champion thinks fast and snaps Kalisto's neck over the ropes to send us to another house ad.

Back from our commercial, Enzo is in control and gets a nearfall off a short-arm lariat and puts boots to Kalisto in the corner before hitting that double leg side slam of his and locking the challenger down with a reverse chinlock. Keeping it moving, hanging him in the Tree of Woe, stomp connects, backing off and clobbering him with a sliding forearm for a nearfall!

Back to the reverse chinlock, Kalisto struggles and nearly turns it into Salida Del Sol only for the champion to slam him to the mat! Into the Tree of Woe again, a stomp in passing, three-point stance, charging in again but the Dragon Gate man pops up and avoids it! Diving moonsault, but Kalisto can't capitalize! Duck a lariat, tilt-a-whirl headscissors sends the champion loopy!

Corner knee, California Roll, kick to the face, off the ropes... HEADSCISSORS DRIVER! Salida Del Sol... AMORE GRABS THE TOP ROPE AND ESCAPES! To the apron, slugging it out, big cracking right hand from Enzo... APRON JORDANZO! Yanking Kalisto through the corner to wrench the arm, in the middle of the ring, wristlock...

Enzo Amore wins by pinfall with Jordanzo, retaining the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

Back to the panel, they discuss what we just saw before talking about what wins and losses tonight might mean for each brand. They toss back to Sam Roberts in the crowd for a moment before moving onto a video package and discussion for the men's Survivor Series Elimination Match. Then back to ringside for our last pre-show match!

Kevin Owens gets on the mic and says they didn't come to WWE to compete with clowns like Breezango, and Sami Zayn says they'll call it what it is, a disgrace and an insult to the two best on SmackDown that they've been relegated to having a match with those guys tonight. Owens wants them to give up on the Fashion Files and investigate a real crime, because this is where he won his first Intercontinental and Universal Championships, and tonight he should be making history again by leading Team SmackDown to victory over Raw, but they're not, and that's because of Shane McMahon.

Sami agrees and wants them to get to the bottom of Shane's vendetta against them, and Owens moots the idea of looking into how Shane is still commissioner after making SmackDown such a hostile working environment. Zayn says he was concerned for his well-being and they did what they had to do, what they always do, the right thing. They escaped because they're not going to be pawns in McMahon's propaganda machine, that's not their fight or their problem.

He's interrupted mid-promo by Breezango making their entrance. Walking and talking, Tyler says they got an anonymous tip about two optical offenders harrassing the WWE Universe, and Fandango says by the smell of it he thinks they've found them. Breeze says that stench, the unmanicured facial hair, that's at least ten different violations. Sami greets the police and Dango calls him a paperboy before offering up a headline about them saving Survivor Series from a couple of fashion felons.

Breezango (Fandango & Tyler Breeze) vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

Owens and Fandango to start, Kev in hot but Dango is able to fight him off and then Zayn when he runs in after his pal. The Canadians on the floor, they get the proverbial book thrown at them in the form of a stack of tickets, and we take another break for a house ad.

Dango suplexes Sami over the top rope and tags Tyler in, boot and a nearfall, and Zayn heads outside for a breather. Flying forearm from Breeze, back inside and Sami capitalizes with a little help from KO, raining grounded punches down on him and following with a short-arm lariat. Tag made, Owens in with punches and stomps in the corner, clubbing blow and a tag right back to Zayn.

Tyler creates an opening but Sami is able to drag him right back over for a tag and a leglock-assisted senton for a nearfall. Following it up with a reverse chinlock after, Breeze eventually fighting to his feet only to get mat slammed and covered for two after, and then right back to the reverse chinlock. To his feet again, body blows, and Owens kicks his leg out of his leg!

But on the follow-up senton Breeze has his knees up and tags are made! Dango in hot, throwing strikes like the wind, missile dropkick, hip swivel, tornado DDT connects... Owens breaks it up! Breeze in to run KO off, Fandango climbs up top but Kev cuts him off and then pulls Sami out of the way of the Last Dance! Tag made, off the ropes...

Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn win by pinfall with a pop-up powerbomb from Owens on Fandango.

We go backstage with AJ Styles for an interview. He says he's not telling his strategy, but if you want to talk about Heyman calling him an underdog, well, who isn't an underdog against Brock Lesnar? He doesn't fear Lesnar, sure he might be afraid of what might happen in the ring, but that fear's a good thing, because he moves a little faster, jumps a little higher, and hits a lot harder.

Tonight he's gonna have to be better than great, he's going to have to be phenomenal. Jinder Mahal rolls up for a tense moment before leaving. We get a video package for the match and panel discussion before one last round of shilling for the WWE Network and footage of the Shield and New Day walking backstage closes the pre-show out.

The show proper kicks off with a video package built around the idea that everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face. (The video proper used a "first shots" analogy, but allow me the paraphrase here.)

Live in the arena, Big E does the deal and the New Day make their entrance.

Xavier Woods says tonight it'll be the Shield against your boys the New Day and while that's great material for you fanfiction kids and Tumblr users, they're out to show that they're the greatest faction to ever step foot in WWE. Kofi Kingston continues, saying last week, Kurt Angle took SmackDown under siege and unleashed the Hounds of Justice on your boys.

It took them three weeks to steal their idea and they couldn't do it as well as they did! The only thing that was proven is that the Shield have a big ol' set of big, gigantic, dangling... guts. Guts. It's PG! But as they all know, dogs will always be dogs and your boys are about to go Bob Barker on their ass. Spay and neuter your animals, folks.

Big E says the Shield are about brotherhood, but there's no greater brotherhood than New Day, and that's because New Day rocks, etc.

New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston, & Xavier Woods) vs. the Shield (Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, & Seth Rollins)

Ambrose and Kingston to start, circling, Kofi goes behind with a waistlock, standing switch, another, side headlock to a wristlock, Dean reverses to a wristlock of his own. Kingston rolls through for a fancy escape and Ambrose slaps the taste out of his mouth! Tags made, Woods on Rollins now, collar and elbow, Seth turns it into a hammerlock but Xavier reverses through a series of holds into a side headlock.

A short-arm lariat counters and again tags are made, E on Reigns. The big men square up, Roman gets a waistlock and Big hosses his hands apart to counter! Reigns thinks fast, side headlock, shoot off, big shoulder block but E comes flying off the ropes to knock the Big Dog down! Drop down, leapfrog, big elbow from Reigns but Big pops back up and thrusts his pelvis at him!

Samoan drop nearfall for Roman, whip reversed, blind tag from Kingston, but the match breaks down and the Shield clothesline E and Kofi out of the ring! They put the beating on Woods, quick tags, their own Unicorn Stampede into a fist drop from the Architect, snapmare, sliding lariat from Ambrose, chaining that offense together, only a nearfall but the Hounds of Justice are rolling!

Kofi legal, rolling hot chops and a dropkick, Superman lariat, off the ropes for the Boom Drop but Dean ducks Trouble in Paradise, underhooks, back into New Day's corner and E tags himself in. Hammering away on Ambrose, and the Unicorn Stampede is in full effect! Dean gets up and Kingston goes crotch first into the post! Woods tags in, keeping Dean isolated until he can tag Big in and keep the Stampede rolling.

Whip-assisted dropkick, Rollins and Reigns head outside to equalize the situation, Dean gets a fire in his belly and hits a suicide dive on Xavier! Back to the apron... BIG E SUICIDE SPEAR! Big Dog and Architect back on the apron, E brings Ambrose back in for the cover but it's only a nearfall and he rips the shirt off of Dean's back. Ambrose throwing desperation chops, off the ropes he runs into an elbow but again it's only two.

Woods tags in, half nelson chinlock, to the corner, struggling for position and Dean knocks him to the mat. Big tags back in, climbing up to join him, thinking belly-to-belly superplex but Ambrose blocks by boxing his ears half a dozen times and dropping him with a missile dropkick! Kofi clears house but Rollins gets the tag and comes in hot! Diving lariat, blockbuster off the second, Sling Blade... only a nearfall!

Looking for the ripcord knee, denied, Woods tags in but the Architect gets him up for the buckle bomb and tags the Big Dog in. Roman with a nearfall off a leaping lariat, Xavier down and out, he calls for it... the Superman Punch is scouted into a schoolboy for a nearfall! Samoan drop fought out of, off the ropes, looking for a rolling elbow... NO THE SUPERMAN PUNCH HITS TRUE!

Calling for the spear but Xavier counters with a knee to the face! Ambrose legal but New Day are still focused on Roman, Big in, counters a pendulum lariat into a clutch, thinking Midnight Hour, Rollins is there to stop it, ripcord knee on Kingston, Dirty Deeds... XAVIER WOODS MAKES THE SAVE! Woods in, Seth knocks his block off with a superkick! Architect asking his boys to end it now, they put E into the barricade hard and head around to Kingston to do the same for him.

Shield going for the Triple Powerbomb... BIG PULLS ROMAN OUT FOR THE SAVE! TROUBLE IN PARADISE ON SETH! A PAIR OF KNEES FOR DEAN! New Day head to the floor to make sure Reigns stays down and they direct their attention back to Ambrose. Tag made... SNAKE EYES INTO A PAIR OF KICKS! Woods gets E in the electric chair, Kofi pops over them for a splash, assisted splash from E!

Fending Seth off, Big hoists Ambrose and Rollins up at the same time as Kofi and Xavier both head to the second... DOUBLE MIDNIGHT HOUR! A SPEAR TO E BREAKS UP THE PIN! The Big Dog tags in as both teams assist their fallen to rise to their feet... and an all-out brawl breaks out! Referee Brian Nguyen has no control over the situation! Ambrose hits Dirty Deeds to E on the floor!

Roman whips Kofi in the corner and gets caught with a gamengiri from the apron, a dive comes up empty but the Big Dog is ready with the spear! Calling for it... ROMAN CLIMBS THE TURNBUCKLES?! SETH AND DEAN JOIN HIM... AVALANCHE TRIPLE POWERBOMB! IT'S OVER!

The Shield win by pinfall with an Avalanche Triple Powerbomb on Kofi Kingston.

Backstage, Stephanie McMahon is giving the Raw women's team a pep talk and says she expects the same results as last year, a win for Team Raw's women. She tells Asuka she wants her to break every bone in Becky Lynch's body, she wants every inch of the Boss, no more hugs from Bayley, she's seen what she can do and she wants to see it tonight. Nattie is able to turn it around and tag Carmella in, but Tamina comes in right after, Carmella lands a superkick, Snuka is up top...

Tamina eliminates Bayley by pinfall with the diving splash.

Nia Jax in for Team Raw and the two big women stare each other down. Jax knocks Naomi down onto the apron, Tamina returns the favor with Fox and they trade headbutts, neither woman giving an inch! Nia gets Tamina down in the middle of the ring, cannonball... NOPE! Snuka with clubbing blows but she can't get Jax up in a fireman's carry! Nia gets her up in return but gets distracted by Lana on the apron and runs her over!

She turns around into a pair of superkicks and gets knocked to the floor but she's still standing! NAOMI WITH A PLANCHA! A third superkick on the floor as Cone counts, Tamina climbs the steps for a diving splash and barely gets back in at nine...

To the corner, tag to Tamina, stereo boots as referee John Cone counts, double suplex, Snuka drawing her up but Asuka keeps throwing hands. Body slam connects for a nearfall, overhand clubs, another slam, Tamina climbs up top... NOBODY HOME ON THE SPLASH! Asuka draws herself up, flying armbar...

Team Raw wins, Asuka last eliminating Natalya by submission with the Asuka Lock.

Asuka celebrates her victory as sole survivor.

Stephanie McMahon is backstage with Daniel Bryan, saying Raw is up 2-0 and they're going to run the table. Bryan says they just got lucky and they have John Cena. Steph asks how they got John, did Angle drop the ball or is it just because Cena's his brother-in-law? Dan fires back about her putting HHH on her team, and she says the Game took his rightful place on the team.

Bryan asks if it's the same Game that he beat back at WrestleMania, and she says it was indeed. Bryan says beating the Authority was the best night of his career and he's gonna give that same feeling to all of Team SmackDown. Steph talks about how great her team is and how they left Shane squirming in the middle of the ring. Dan says as vindictive as she sounds there, her brother will be twice as vindictive tonight.

Steph tells him that might be true if he was at 100%, and he should get used to operating without Shane since after tonight he's gonna be in no condition to be commissioner.

Baron Corbin vs. the Miz (Champion vs. Champion)

Circling, Baron takes a minute to jaw at Maryse, who is in the front row, and Miz ducks a lariat and punches Corbin in the face! Strategy with the Miztourage, blocking a punch, back in, punches of his own but the Lone Wolf puts him in the corner for a body avalanche! Baron slides to the outside, Curtis Axel runs interference and the A-Lister catches him with a dropkick through the ropes.

Corbin puts Miz's face into the announce desk and then puts him into the barricade in front of Maryse and blows her a kiss! Miz from behind as Baron continues to jaw at his wife, back in the ring, big clothesline to the floor on the opposite side and the A-Lister hits the floor to nail him with a forearm and ram him into the barricade. Putting him back in the ring, Baron hits a knee and a boot that put Miz to the floor where his boys check on him.

The Lone Wolf brings the A-Lister back into the ring and draws him up in the corner for more right hands, hard whip into the opposite turnbuckles, a knee lift, off the ropes but Miz hangs on and kicks the big man's knees out from under him before low bridging him to the floor! Baron gets the ropes, the A-Lister takes the whole four-count he's legally allowed and charges in... DEEP SIX! NOPE!

Miz kicks him away, thinking axehandle, Baron catches him in the goozle, pinning cradle reverses, the Lone Wolf slides outside and punches Curtis in the neck brace! We get a video package showing Bayley helping a dude pick out an engagement ring and proposing in the ring before a show.

Backstage, Paul Heyman rolls up on an interview and he says this whole evening is phenomenal, AJ Styles is the most phenomenal performer of this or any generation, but then the bell rings and Styles will realize he's in for a fight with a Beast, a conqueror, an unrepentent predator who will rip him apart.

The Usos cut a promo during their entrance, saying if Cesaro & Sheamus are the Bar, they're the bartenders, and that means everything at the bar goes through them first. They're polevaulters, jumping clean over the bar tonight. Candy bars? Nope. Ice cream bars? Pull-up bar? Nope. Crowbar? Nope. Handlebar? Nope. Welcome to the Uso Penitentiary!

Grounded reverse chinlock, suffocating Jimmy on the mat and tagging Sheamus back in when life returns. Tandem low superkicks, a knee drop to the face and Sheamus grabs a reverse chinlock for a second before switching to a top wristlock. Jimmy nearly escapes but the Celtic Warrior is on him, Irish Curse backbreaker gets a nearfall and he grabs the reverse chinlock again.

Jimmy counters with a jawbreaker, Cesaro tags in and clears Jey from the apron, Celtic Warrior tags back in himself, flapjack into Swiss Death... NOPE! Up top, Cesaro hoists Jey up in a powerbomb but Uso fights back with punches on both men, he gets Sheamus in a fireman's carry... SAMOAN DROP / POWERBOMB COMBO! Jimmy wipes Cesaro out with a superkick, Jey rolls over for the pin... SHEAMUS KICKS OUT!

Sheamus crawling for his corner, dragging Jey along as Cesaro heads over to be ready for the tag. Uso to his feet, enzuigiri and Jimmy is legal! SUPERKICK PARTY ON SHEAMUS! BROGUE KICK DUCKED, SUPERKICKS, STEREO SUPERKICKS, TAG DURING A SUICIDE DIVE...

The Usos win by pinfall with a diving splash from Jey Uso on Sheamus.

Jason Jordan is interviewed backstage. He says he's collected his thoughts and feels terrible that he may never get the opportunity to compete with his dad, Kurt Angle. But like he told Kurt, come game time he'll be a hundred percent, and if anything happens tonight, he's ready to go and behind his teammates. Flair flagging but not failing, posting back to one foot and then to standing, deadlifting her up and hitting the sit-out powerbomb... NOT ENOUGH! Picking the leg, thinking about the figure four and Alexa hits her in the face to counter!
