It wasn’t quite as novel as what happened across town with a CW star and Ring of Honor (ROH) on Friday, Nov. 17, but NXT’s San Antonio show and its big guest star did provide crowd-pleasing moments, too.
WWE Hall of Famer and current developmental coach/producer Shawn Michaels was on hand to guest referee a main event title fight between champion Drew McIntyre and challenger Adam Cole. With McIntyre and Cole booked in key spots for Saturday’s TakeOver: WarGames, any hopes of an Alamo Screwjob were pretty far-fetched. But you knew HBK would do something to pop the Texas crowd. And that something turned out to be a little Sweet Chin Music to eliminate interference from Undisputed ERA:

After counting the 1 - 2 - 3 for Drew, Michaels thanked fans for the sentiment behind their “you’ve still got it” and “one more match” chants, but says he “can assure you that I’m too old for this s***”:
What a fantastic night at #NXTSanAntonio! @ShawnMichaels with some parting words for us fans! You will never be “ to old for this shit”. pic.twitter.com/KRqPH1SldS
