The Rock's daughter wants to get into pro wrestling after college

@simonegjohnson

The Rock’s family tree has deep roots. Dwayne Johnson’s ties to the pro wrestling business dates back to his grandfather Peter Maivia as well as his father Rocky Johnson.

Now a father of two daughters, The Rock’s eldest daughter Simone Garcia Johnson has made her pro wrestling ambitions public. Are pro wrestling fans ready for another Johnson family member to try their hand at the squared circle?

Speaking about her new role as as the 2018 Golden Globes Ambassador with the Hollywood Reporter, Johnson was asked about her love of pro wrestling.

You appear to be a big fan of wrestling, especially female wrestling. What is it about the sport that you love?

It's a sport that is unlike anything else in the world. There's just a certain amount of passion that every move and match requires, and that's so admirable. It's definitely something I've thought about and want to pursue.

You've signed with IMG models. Do you hope to also go into acting?

As much as I love and admire the film industry, I don't see myself pursuing a career in it at the moment. I plan to study business in college — NYU, hopefully — and after graduating, I want to pursue wrestling and eventually transition into talent management.

Now a 16-year-old high school student, by the time Simone Garcia Johnson is done with college a lot could change. Maybe by 2023 her dad will be thinking about his second term as the President of The United States, which would make her transition to the world of pro wrestling that much more low key.
