The epic sounds of “"Also Sprach Zarathustra” will play over the loudspeakers at the Greensboro Coliseum for the return of Starrcade. WWE formally announced today that The Nature Boy Ric Flair will part of the upcoming North Carolina house show on Saturday November 25th.
Fresh off his return to WWE TV this past Tuesday on SmackDown, Flair will play some role during the Starrcade festivities.
On Saturday, Nov. 25, during Thanksgiving weekend, Starrcade returns when the Superstars of SmackDown LIVE descend on Greensboro, N.C., for an epic event at the Greensboro Coliseum. WWE.com has now confirmed that Ric Flair will be a part of the historic event that he once helped build.
The premier event of the National Wrestling Alliance and, later, WCW, Starrcade got its start in Greensboro on Thanksgiving 1983 with a star-studded lineup that saw The Nature Boy defeat Harley Race to win his second of 16 World Championships. Starrcade remained in Greensboro through 1986 and was the stage on which legendary performers like Dusty Rhodes, The Four Horsemen, Magnum TA, The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express and many more etched their names into sports-entertainment history.
The WWE also finalized the remainder of the card:
WWE Championship Steel Cage Match
AJ Styles vs. Jinder Mahal
SmackDown Women’s Championship Steel Cage Match
North Carolina's own Charlotte Flair vs. Natalya
SmackDown Tag Team Championship Fatal 4-Way Match
The Usos vs. The New Day vs. Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn
United States Championship Match
Baron Corbin vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
Grudge Match
Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler
Dustin Rhodes vs. Dash Wilder
Now for the sake of pro wrestling history, NWA nostalgia, and even more Network content, will the WWE stream Starrcade anywhere on Saturday the 25th?
Can’t known lover of all things pro wrestling history Triple H, just tie an old 8 mm camera to a stabilizing beam somewhere in the Greensboro Coliseum and broadcast the show that way?
