In February, actress and reality television star Barbie Blank - known in WWE as former Divas champ Kelly Kelly - visited some friends backstage at Raw and revealed she’d be doing some WrestleMania-related appearances for her old company.
That stirred up talk of a comeback, and even some rumors saying she’d get her wish for “a mini-run”.
But ‘Mania came and went, and the Women’s division in WWE continues to evolve without her. That hasn’t stopped people from asking Blank about a return to the squared circle, or dampened her enthusiasm for the idea. As she told E! while promoting the new season of her show WAGS LA:
“Like I tell everybody, there is no feeling like walking through that curtain and having the fans chant your name.
That's a feeling unlike anything else. I always say, 'Never say never.' I'm only 30 and my body's still intact. I may have a few more matches in me. You never know!”
There isn’t a lot of depth in the Raw or SmackDown women’s ranks right now, but I’m not sure a finite program from someone who’s associated with the “Divas Era” is the solution.
K2 keeps getting asked about it, though, so there’s interest there. Never say never is probably the right answer to anything wrestling related.
What would you say to a Kelly Kelly return or nostalgia run, Cagesiders?
