NXT results, live blog (Nov. 1, 2017): SAnitY vs. Authors of Pain

WWE.com

Here's a place to check results and comment along with the latest airing of WWE NXT in its regular Wednesday night at 8PM Eastern time slot on WWE Network.

Check out our Wednesday morning preview post to get caught up on what's been happening, and what we expect this week.

We'll post match results here, and we will also have our regular reactions post later. In the meantime, and most importantly, this gives you Cagesiders a dedicated place to rave and/or bitch about whatever happens on WWE’s third brand - during its initial broadcast!

NOTE: Spoilers are out there for these pre-taped broadcasts (including here), but many Cagesiders don't partake. If you are going to post or discuss spoilers for this show before they happen, or results of future shows, please use the spoiler bar in your comment.

Enjoy the show!

- Mauro Ranallo, Nigel McGuinness and Percy Watson welcome us, and run down the card

- Nikki Cross def. Taynara Conti via pinfall following a swinging neckbreaker; Nikki went straight after Conti, continuing to get payback for the Brazilian’s Undisputed ERA-influenced interference in her first title qualifier, but got caught as result. Taynara worked the arm to try to set-up a submission, but Cross mostly laughed it off.

- Paul Ellering is shown standing outside AoP’s locker room.

- Mercedes Martinez interview from after last week’s battle royal is played, where she says Ember Moon is the one person she knows won’t win the title in Houston, because she knows Ember can’t win the big one.

- Fabian Aichner def. Johnny Gargano via pinfall following an abdominal stretch cover; kickouts by Aichner after his spear through the ropes and a slingshot DDT stunned Gargano; Johnny was going for the Garga-No Escape when his opponent countered into the finish

- In the General Manager’s office, Drew McIntyre signs the contract for his next NXT championship defense

- Aleister Black informs Velveteen Dream that he has his attention via pre-taped vignette. They’re set for TakeOver.

- This online video is played from “earlier today outside the Performance Center” where Tino Sabatelli and Riddick Moss tell Street Profits to step away from their Maserati and generally talk trash.

- McIntyre steps on stage with the contract in hand, but he’s jumped from behind by Andrade “Cien” Almas before he can start down the ramp. After some kicks from the #1 contender and Zelina Vega, Cien signs the paper and pins it to Drew’s chest with Vega’s used gum!

- This online video is played from “earlier at the Performance Center” with The Iconic Duo caught talking trash by The Pirate Princess, setting up a match between women’s title contenders Peyton Royce and Kairi Sane for next week

- Eric Young and Alexander Wolfe enter for the main event (Killian Dain, Nikki Cross and Undisputed ERA are banned from ringside)

- Authors of Pain vs. SAnitY (c) for the NXT Tag Team championship ends when Undisputed ERA attacks; Akam and Rezar isolated and worked over Wolfe, taking their time in order to punish him (and clearly playing heel); the German got his boot up on Rezar to bring Young in hot after both teams got a tag; AoP kicked out of a tandem neckbreaker and an EY top rope elbow; the Authors had hit Super Collider and Last Chapter when Adam Cole, Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly ran in to break things up

- Killian Dain runs in, but Undisputed beats him down too. Roderick Strong appears and puts on the Undisputed ERA armband, but turns on the trio and attacks! He’s joined by the Authors in a beatdown of Fish and O’Reilly while Cole slinks away.

- Regal is out, saying he won’t allow this to go on. It will be settled in a TakeOver Triple Threat featuring SAnitY vs. Undisputed ERA vs. AoP and Strong. It won’t be just any Triple Threat, either, as only one match can contain this chaos - WAR GAMES!
