Dolph Ziggler has been raging against wrestlers with flashy entrances using cheap gimmicks to get over instead of just being really good at wrestling. Bobby Roode most certainly uses the former but they needed a match to decide on the latter. They had said match at tonight’s (Sun., Oct. 8, 2017) WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view (PPV) at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.
It’s worth noting, by the way, that Dolph, in lieu of his usual entrance, simply walked to the ring without music. He was all business.
Roode worked the gimmick early in the match but also made sure to out-wrestle Ziggler at pretty much every turn. That was more or less the story of the match, that Bobby is every bit as good as Dolph in that area. The finish was a bit strange in the sense that Roode won with a roll up — they did a series of reversals leading to it — by holding Dolph’s tights. To be fair, Ziggler tried that on him just before.
There ya go.
After the pin, Ziggler laid Roode out with a Zig Zag before walking out upset.
