WWE Hell in a Cell 2017 results: Charlotte wins but Natalya keeps her SmackDown women’s title

@WWE

Charlotte was out of action for a time due to her father falling ill. Almost immediately upon her return, she won a number one contender match and her title shot against Champion Natalya came at tonight’s (Sun., Oct. 8, 2017) WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view (PPV) at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

The story they went with was that they were reigniting the Hart vs. Flair family feud that dates back to Bret taking on Ric.

The story of the match was that Natalya was working on the leg and Charlotte was doing everything she could to overcome it. They traded submissions, the full nine. At the end of the match, however, Charlotte, for some stupid reason, went for her trademark moonsault on the outside.

She landed on her legs.

She sold it perfectly but didn’t give up. Not until the match ended because Nattie grabbed a chair and went to work with it, leading to a hugely unsatisfying disqualification win for Charlotte.

But the title stays with Natalya.
