WWE’s SmackDown Women’s Championship
The champion’s first feud after winning the title at SummerSlam versus a familiar foe looking for her sixth main roster title.
The story so far
Somehow it’s been three years since Natalya and Charlotte Flair tore down the house at Full Sail. The build to the first NXT: TakeOver featured both Natalya and Charlotte winning their side of the bracket for the vacant NXT Women’s Championship.
In a battle between the baby face veteran and the upstart heel, Flair had her hand raised after what many consider the show stealer of the Network special.
The build to Hell in a Cell
After Natalya crashed Charlotte’s update of her father’s physical health, the current Flair challenged the champion at Hell in a Cell to match to defend Hall of Fame Ric’s honor.
In the land of SmackDown you earn your way and General Manager Daniel Bryan placed Charlotte Flair in a fatal-four-way number one contender’s match with Becky Lynch, Naomi and Tamina. With a boot to the face and a pin of Tamina, Flair booked her ticket to a title match with Natalya.
The go-home show
With Ms. Money in the Bank looming over the SmackDown Women’s division, Carmella teamed with Natalya versus the tea sipping duo of Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. The champ would go on to tap-out the challenger courtesy of a sharpshooter.
Will Natalya vs. Charlotte Flar live up to the bar they set way back in May 2014? Will Carmella cash-in her briefcase?
