NXT is back at their home base of Full Sail Live, where they'll tape matches and segments for their regular Wednesday night series on WWE Network.
Tonight’s show (Oct. 4) should take us all the way to the next live special, Nov. 18’s TakeOver: Houston. Not sure why they’re taping so far in advance, but the next Full Sail show isn’t scheduled until the last Wednesday in November, so... key pieces for the card of that Survivor Series’ Eve WWE Network special like who Kairi Sane will face for the Women’s title should be revealed before the night is out.
We’ll know more when results start rolling in from Winter Park, Florida. We'll be updating those here live, starting at the scheduled 6:30PM Eastern bell time:
- First thing’s first, we’re told that there will be a battle royal to fill the last spot in the NXT Women’s Championship match at TakeOver: Houston, as well as a tag title rematch between SAnitY and Authors of Pain.
- No Way Jose over Marcel “Axel Dieter, Jr.” Barthel in our dark match for the evening.
- William Regal announces via a pre-tape that Nikki Cross will be in the battle royal to get another chance to be in the NXT Women’s Championship match.
- Riddick Moss & Tino Sabbatelli over Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan.
- Nikki Cross earns a spot in the NXT Women’s Championship match at TakeOver: Houston, winning a qualifying battle royal that also featured Abbey Laith, Bianca BelAir, Billie Kay, Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai, Lacey Evans, Mercedes Martinez, Reina Gonzalez, Rhea Ripley, Sage Beckett, Santana Garrett, Sarah Logan, Taynara Conti, Vanessa Borne, and Zeda.
- After the match, Cross is joined by her co-competitors for TakeOver: Houston (Ember Moon, Kairi Sane, and Peyton Royce) and William Regal in the ring for a photo op.
- Aleister Black is blindsided mid-entrance by Velveteen Dream, who ties him up in the ropes and slaps him, demanding he say his name, but Black is able to fight his way loose and run VD off.
- Andrade “Cien” Almas and Zelina Vega come out, Almas claiming that he wants an NXT Championship match and Drew McIntyre is ducking him.
- Andrade “Cien” Almas over Roderick Strong. Usually I don’t descend into play-by-play here in the spoilers since getting that kind of thing is inconsistent at best, but holy crap I’m seeing that Vega hit a Frankensteiner off the apron on Roddy! What a world we live in.
- After the match, Roddy lingers in the ring and Undisputed show up. They offer Strong a spot in their group and leave him with an armband to think about it.
- Nikki Cross over Taynara Conti.
- Fabian Aichner over Johnny Gargano.
- Drew McIntyre comes out for a contract signing, but Almas blindsides him and signs the contract!
- Authors of Pain (Akam & Rezar) over SAnitY (Alexander Wolfe & Eric Young) (c) by disqualification when Undisputed run in, leading SAnitY to retain the NXT Tag Team Championship. Roderick Strong joins the fray, seemingly joining Undisputed... BUT HE TEARS THAT ARMBAND OFF AND TURNS ON ‘EM!
- William Regal comes out and announces a three-way trios match for TakeOver: Houston. It’ll be the Authors of Pain and Roderick Strong vs. SAnitY vs. Undisputed... IN WARGAMES!
- And later in this taping, we’ll get Adam Cole vs. Roderick Strong.
- Heavy Machinery over Chris Payne & Sean Maluta.
- Kairi Sane over Billie Kay.
- Velveteen Dream over Cezar Bononi. After the match, VD says that Aleister Black will say his name at TakeOver: WarGames.
- Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) over Riddick Moss & Tino Sabbatelli.
- Lars Sullivan over Raul Mendoza. Post-match, Lars goes to beat Mendoza down further but Kassius Ohno makes the save!
- Ember Moon over Mercedes Martinez.
- Post-match, we get a face-off between the contenders for the NXT Women’s Championship.
- Drew McIntyre comes out for a promo, saying Almas is in trouble, and at TakeOver: WarGames, he’ll have to climb the mountain. This brings Almas out for an attack with an assist from Zelina on the distraction!
- Roderick Strong over Adam Cole by disqualification when Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish run-in. This brings the Authors of Pain and SAnitY out in turn to close the taping out with a big ol’ pier six brawl.
There you have it, folks
We’re on our way to TakeOver: WarGames! Like what you see, Cagesiders?
