WWE officially announces the signing of Shayna Baszler

WWE.com

This was rumored a couple weeks back, and really isn’t a big surprise. WWE really wants to make the Four Horsewomen feud happen, and aside from Ronda Rousey, Mae Young Classic finalist Shayna Baszler is the most well-known name on the MMA side of that program. So it makes complete sense they would want to lock her in to a contract and continuing promoting her for whenever that story comes together.

And because she has the makings of a really good pro wrestler.

Eagle-eyed social media followers noticed she was hanging with fellow Performance Center trainees like Dakota Kai and Kairi Sane, and WWE has gone ahead and made it official. Baszler has signed and began training at the company’s facility last week.

The self-styled Queen of Spades told WWE.com this is the “the next step” in her combat sports career:

“I’m looking forward to getting out there and twisting limbs off and breaking bodies. I can't wait.”

Can you?

While we wait for news on Rousey, NXT is planning a 4Way title fight to crown their next Women’s champion for their next live event in Houston next month. So far, only Sane - the woman who defeated her at the MYC finale - has been confirmed for the match. Could that be the next next step for Baszler?

Keep watching to find out.
