When Bray Wyatt came down with an illness and was forced out of his planned match against Finn Balor at TLC, the creative team at WWE had to come up with a replacement match. It wouldn’t be as important as replacing Roman Reigns in the main event, but it would be important nonetheless.
One idea reportedly thrown out there? A Bullet Club reunion.
Sort of.
That’s the word from Ryan Satin on Wrestling Sheet Radio (available on iTunes and other podcast platforms), who reports there was a pitch to have Finn Balor team up with AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows in a 4-on-4 match. No word on who would have opposed them but the simple idea of that group coming together in WWE no doubt would have had fans interested in the match.
Vince McMahon ultimately turned it down, opting instead to have Balor wrestle Styles in what was a very good match that didn’t have much of an effect on anything — as evidenced by the baffling decision to have Balor lose to Kane the very next night on Raw.
