Report: WWE wants a huge name for Survivor Series guest referee role

WWE.com

Would the WWE bring out the big guns for their November Network special? According to a new report the WWE may be truly treating next month’s Survivor Series as a “big four” pay-per-view.

Late Wednesday night The Wrestling Observer (subscription required but recommended) reported there are now three candidates for the much talked about Survivor Series guest referee role.

John Cena was previously rumored for the role and it could work with his movie schedule. Cena is currently off WWE TV and filming the Transformers movie spin off BumbleBee.

The two other big names being reported are The Rock and Steve Austin.

The potential special guest referee role at Survivor Series would be the third man in the ring during the Brock Lesnar vs. Jinder Mahal match.

Cena seems like the default for WWE officials, but could the company really pull off landing either Rock or Austin for a non-WrestleMania appearance?

Since the Attitude Era the question always comes back around to Austin or Rock. Given the option of both former wrestlers, which one would you add to the Survivor Series fold?
