WWE SmackDown Live ratings (Oct. 24, 2017): Under Siege fallout brings viewers back

WWE.com

There was still big competition from sports, especially in the form of game one of the World Series between teams from two huge TV markets in Los Angeles and Houston. But a hot angle cures a lot of things in pro wrestling, at least in the short term. The interest generated by Shane McMahon’s assault on Raw and the overall red vs. blue storyline for Survivor Series did the trick for SmackDown on Oct. 24.

The 2,699,000 who tuned in delivered not only a sizeable increase in viewership over last week’s, but also represents the WWE’s biggest audience on Tuesday since SummerSlam. That was good for third place among cable originals, behind only Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson on Fox News.

The rating among 18 - 49 year olds also rose to a .81 (from last week’s .73), making SmackDown second behind only FX’s American Horror Story in that category.

Will it hold as the run to the Nov. 19 pay-per-view (PPV) continues? Is this a sign we can expect more “shock and awe” booking from Vince McMahon and team?

While you consider that, here’s a rundown of the blue brand’s numbers this year:
