Over the past few weeks, Nikki Bella has either failed to impress the judges or struggled to break out from the pack of remaining competitors on Dancing With The Stars.
On Monday, Oct. 16’s “Disney Night”, she and professional partner Artem Chigvintsev definitely delivered a Mexican-themed jazz routine the judges liked. Maybe Nikki was inspired by the fact they danced to a song from the upcoming film Coco, since she said her nieces and nephews all call her “Coco” (I guess for a non-movie related reason, since the Pixar production isn’t out until Thanksgiving).
Whatever the reason, Bella and Chigvintsev received a 27 out of 30 from the judges - their highest score of the season. Judge Len Goodman proclaimed it Nikki’s “best dance” and Bruno Tonioli called it “wonderful.”
The Fearless One might be peaking as the 25th season of DWTS reaches its midway point, but she’s still got a fight on her hands to avoid elimination next week. That’s because the 27 was only good for a tie for fourth place on a night that saw Derek Jordan Fisher receive the first perfect score of the contest.
The Total Divas star did avoid the fate which befell Pretty Little Liars’ Sasha Pieterse, who was sent home this week. But she’ll need the support of The Bella Army to make it into the final eight next Monday.
C’MON NIKKI!
